Big Brother for a Thursday Night 8-30-12: Ian Tries to Snap

Big Brother started 22 minutes late and Twitter was aflame with folks using language I won't repeat here.  You can blame the political convention, if you must, for delaying the programming.  But at least CBS aired everything afterwards, in full.

Julie starts the show by letting viewers knew that Newsweek mentioned Dan's big move last time around.  Then on to the previews.  Danielle and Britney are sitting on the block. Britney spruced up for the event.

Ian actually goes up to the HoH room to confront Frank and acts all high and mighty, asking what that was about.  Frank calls him on his past antics and Ian storms out of the HoH room.

Danielle is worried a bit about her status, whether she goes or stays & Britney is trying to start wrangling angles, while Frank and Ian go at it yet again.  Oh BTW, Ian is arguing with a giant carrot, because Frank is still decked out in his Big Brother carrot suit.

After the break, Britney was going off on a rant.  They showed "The Brigade" from a previous season and some Britney footage.  I've come to the conclusion when things don't go her way, she tends to break down quickly.

It's time for the vote

  • Dan voted for Britney
  • Jenn -> Britney
  • Ian -> Danielle
  • Shane -> Britney
  • Joe -> Britney

Later girl!!!  Britney is ejected from the house, but she joins Ashley in the juror's house.  And wow, Dan and Franks plan worked.  Britney calls Dan pure genius and pure evil, when asked by Julie.

The next Big Brother HoH contest starts tonight and involves the house guests hanging on to a rope while spinning around a thing that looks like the sun.  Joe fell off before the show left.  At the last second, Jenn gets knocked off by an obstacle put out there.

For The Jennie Garth & Luke Perry Fan Out There: They're Developing a Show

RumorFix is reporting that Jennie Garth and Luke Perry are working on a new show together.

It will be a multi-camera 30 series and at the moment, they've got themselves some producers and writers and are meeting with networks.

We'll see how this pans out, because frankly, I'm a bit tired of getting excited about things in development that never make it to actual production.

We'll see!

Face Off 8-28 episode, Pirates Ahoy! (w/ preview pics of Next Week)

This is a terse recap of the Face Off episode that aired on Au 28th.  I've caught up on eps!  As the episode starts, we learn that Rod has a wrist brace on because he really over-worked his hand/wrist tendons in the last challenge!  This week's challenge goal is pirates.  And on the line, for winning this challenge, is an extra $5k.

They pick their model molds and go to it.

The different ideas they all have are incredibly imaginative.  One contestant, CC, seems to have an interesting handicap in that she can't draw her ideas.

During the development stage, Rod is having problems breaking his mold out becuase of his wrist issue.  Gulp!  (Live thought:  I would hate to see him go home.  He's truly, I think, one of the more talented and kind persons in this contest.  Last week he helped out a few other folks.)

One of the contestants was having a tough time with her mold (I didn't catch her name, I was downloading ep images and missed it.) but the other contestants came to her aid.  THIS IS A BUNCH OF NICE FOLKS this season!

The usual stresses of day three kick in, last minute adjustments and changes and such.

On to the reveal stage, some looked good, some... not.

Roy's Dagger theme impressed the judges.

CC explained her concept and told she seemed directionless.

Sarah Pirate's Wench was told it was a dynamic form and cool colors.

Jason and his jewels theme and the panel was disappointed.

Laura's concept of shells, was told it had a great feel, head to toe.

The winner of the challenge was Sarah and her oozing pirate wench.

The eliminated player was CC.

Here are two preview pics from the September 4th episode of Face Off:

And Dan Pulls Off a HUGE Big Brother Move in the House 8-29

I tuned into Big Brother and that political thingy was on, with this guy saying "we can do it" over and over and over, as if they can effect change on the momentum of the present economy like its magic.

Big Brother started about 8 minutes late, with the usual recap, splash intro of the show, and then, they recapped some of the same stuff again.  Dudes, I remember what you just showed me!

So Dan and Denielle are nominated.  Danielle sounds nasally while she goes on about being up against Dan.  Ian has that 2nd veto.  Six people will be playing for tonight's veto competition.  Dan, Danielle, Shane, Britney, Jenn, & Frank.

The veto game is called 'Draw Something.'  Contestants must ID a word while something being drawn is on the screen.  It's like Pictionary.  Except, winning the round gets the player a stupid stunt they have to perform.

Dan pulls out an answer and pisses off Britney, because he's going against something he told her.

She seems to have discovered that Dan is selfish.  Duh.

Then Frank completely blows it by getting himself DQ'd.  Wow.  So much for Mr. Unstoppable.  He had this.

Then Jenn comes out of nowhere, takes a risk or surprise move and wins Big Brother's Power of Veto competition.  She seems to be siding with Frank.

Dan won a 24-hr solitary confinement.  He sees it as 24 hours to think, but (live thought here) I'm thinking it's 24 hours for other things to develop outside his little room of confinement.  We'll see.

Everyone pays their dues from winning the Veto challenge and when Dan gets released, he's pretty aloof.  Dan announces he wants a "house" meeting.  His Big Brother funeral and he butters up the gang.  Each and every one of them.  He starts to "cry."  (Was this what he came up with in the room?)  He tells Danielle, she's dead to him in the game.

She was incredibly upset.

Dan has a one-on-one with Frank, telling him everything.  (This is Dan's plan to stay)  He suggests to get Britney out of the house.

And I swear, they just formed an alliance.  Dan then catches up to Danielle to tell her it was an act and that the house's sympathy is with her.  He's asked Frank to ask Jenn to use the veto on him and put Britney up, getting her out of the house.

OK, Dan's stunt, if it works, seems pretty brilliant.

The Veto meeting, Ian does not use the Power of Veto. Jenn, on the other hand, uses it on Dan.  Boo-YA!!!  Ian and Britney looked shocked/horrified.  And Frank tells Britney to "Pop a squat."

Britney is balling her eyes out in the confession room.  Ian says he's now coming for Frank.  You know... the usual reactionary anger from these things, the weekly angst.

And Dan did it.  Brilliance.

This is crazy because even though Frank had no other option, Dan is probably going to go on a screw-fest and take people out left and right in the Big Brother House..

Syfy's Face Off 2012 Season 3: The First Episode Was Impressive

I finally got around to watching the Face Off season premiere on Syfy as it returns for a third season.  It's going to be a good one, that's for sure.

The first challenge came out of the contestants intro roof-top party, where they met Sean Astin, the celebrity judge of the moment.  Once everyone was there, their first challenge was to create a head look using anything from the patio to make their prosthetic head.

Over half the contestants have incredible resume images as they were introduced and these folks challenge work were also pretty incredible.

Eric won this "Spotlight Challenge" and immunity.

The first real challenge is the Star Wars Challenge... create a character that would fit into the cantina scene.

Joe and Tommy is the train-wreck of the teams because Joe is one off-centered character who won't let Tommy get his ideas out.  Tommy finally just gave up and chose to do whatever Joe asks for, no matter what.  Joe is very easy to NOT like.

Laura and Sara's work was highly complimented.

Derek and CC's work were criticized for their coloring (too red) and baked in facial expression.

Roy and Rod concept & work was complimented.  (Rod is incredibly nice.  He complimented his partner and earlier, was helping others during the contest build time.)

Tommy and Joe ... Tommy tried to defend his weak position in the team and opened his mouth before the judges even spoke.  That didn't go well.  They "spat up" again during the critique.

Joe blew out of there before being judged.  By doing this, he became DQ'd and no one went home.

The best team was Rod and Roy, rewarding the amount of creativity.  Between the two of them, they chose Rod as THE winner of the night and their concept will be recreated on the Star Wars website.

Now I have to play catch up since I'm behind a bit on episodes.

It's amazing to me that The Bachelor and The Bachelorette seem to get fewer engagements and relationships than shows like the the sex-fest, I mean The Bachelor Pad, or The Biggest Loser or other shows.  But there it is...  Blakely finally seems to have found the man for her.

For now...

This could be a spoiler or two in here:

via press release

RumorFix has learned exclusively that two Bachelor Pad 3 contestants are engaged!
Blakeley Shea Jones and Tony Pieper became strategic partners on the reality show and they fell in love on their first date, courtesy of the show, insiders say. Tony came at the perfect time, Blakeley just had her heart broken by Chris Bukowski.

As RumorFix first reported Blakeley is moving in with Tony and his son and as we told you — they are now officially engaged.

Tony proposed to the 34-year-old when they taped the finale last Sunday. "He got on bended knee and presented her with a Neil Lane diamond ring," our source says.

Blakeley and Tony want to get married ASAP and our insider says the couple is open to having their wedding televised.

And, Blakeley's an old fashioned gal, she wants to take Tony's last name. And, we've learned that she's excited about becoming a step mom, and can't wait to have more children with the 30-year-old fitness model.

The Walking Dead's Scott Wilson - DUI; + New Character Added To Show

Scott Wilson, who played the farm's patriarch Heschel, on the The Walking Dead, was pulled over on August 18th, in Georgia and charged with DUI.

During the road-side process, Wilson had made the suggestion of rather than the standard sobriety test, that mayhaps, they perform yoga poses instead.  Hmm.

Speaking of The Walking Dead,

Dallas Roberts (The Good Wife, Rubicon) has been tapped to join the cast of the zombie infested AMC hit TV series and will be playing a character not seen in the comics.  The character's name is Milton and Roberts joins Norman Reedus in that distinction of playing characters that are not in the original comic series from Robert Kirkman.

Now that means we have two unpredictable (read as fresh) characters to keep long-time fans on their toes.

I think Reedus rocks as Daryl Dixon.  Mixed about where he wants to stand, having been a loner who now helps provide and gets help from the group on occasion, I love the character.  That and his no-holds barred mouth are what makes me like this character.

Norman Reedus has come a long way from the popular Boondock Saints movies.  That's for sure.  Though at times, I swear he's channeling Murphy MacManus when he takes down zombies.

The Bachelor Pad, 8-27, Where No One Can Spell

The Bachelor Pad had a huge and challenging contest for immunity tonight... a spelling bee!  It was devastating.  But it was tricky... each couple (they're now competing as couples) had to spell a word, by alternating the letter each one calls out.

After an apparently long spell, the one person no one wanted to to win, did win... Chris and Sarah won, obtaining immunity for the night's elimination ceremony.  They also got an overnight date for their troubles.

The Bachelor Pad swapped back and forth between the date and the miserable house full of players.  We also find out that Sarah thinks Chris is better than sliced bread.

Then the runner ups, Ed and Jaclyn get their own overnight date on what looks like the Channel Islands.  Jaclyn seems to not get the words that are coming out of his mouth, because she really is falling for Ed... but then Ed set the tone for the weekend, Ed tells Jaclyn he's pursuing someone else back home.  But he came to the show single.

For some reason, Ed things because he told Sarah about this, that Jaclyn would know.  Seriously???

At dinner, she tried to sort things out with Ed, because she's not interested in looking like a whore.  He wants to play the middle of the road, feels comforted sleeping in the same bed with her.

ED!  Pick a decision. Make a call. Do something besides nothing.  But then Ms." lacking self respect" kisses him and says they've bonded and she likes waking up next to him.  I guess they're the perfect couple!

Ed and Jaclyn come back to the house and have roses to hand out.  Then the rabid sales pitches begin.  They give them to Blakely and Tony.

Well, Lindzi and Kalon were voted off the island, out of the suite, down to the street and what not!  But they knew there was a potential of this happening.  While the limos were leaving, Kalon had his limo stop, he got out, and got into Lindzi's car.  That was pretty cute.

I hope it wasn't all the social isolation that led these two to fawn all over each other.

But according to multiple sources, they're still together.  Check out this tweeted pic.

He Said, She Said: Rumors Say Emily Maynard Cheated

Here we go... The Bachelorette and Bachelor always drums up some interesting noise during or after each season.  In this case, the rumors, started by US Magazine reporting, say that Emily Maynard cheated on the guy she ended up picking at the end of her season, Jef Holm.

US says that Jef found steamy text messages and photos on her phone.  Then of course the crazy rumors or not, started flying about fights, pretending to not be fighting and what not.

There's a lot of noise about these cheating allegations out there.

US's source is supposedly Jef's brother, Mike, verifying the info.  And other sources say the other guy is Oakland Raiders QB Matt Leinart!

Upon first impression, Emily Maynard comes off as a very sweet, wide-eyed young lady whose tragic past with losing the love of her life and her child's father, can suck fans in pretty easily.  The first season I saw her on The Bachelor, I really thought she was the sweetie of the pack.

Then she returned for a second season of the ABC reality TV series.

Then it dawned on me... to be up for something like this kind of TV show, where cameras follow your every move and hover over you while you have intimate moments with dozens of men is not for the feint of heart.  Rather, most folk on reality TV shows are rather brazen, bold or ego driven.

I'm not saying I think she is... but I'm not ruling that out.  Nor can I think that this "sweet Southern Belle" did or didn't cheat.

Now this is static from the cinema of the small screen!!!

All the classic and expected denials are flying.  As with all things, in time, the truth will be told!

Big Brother for a Sunday, And Frank Keeps On Ticking and Ticking... (8-26)

Big Brother starts out like most eps, with a recap.  Tonight's was pretty lengthy since the last ep was a rapid fire set of events.

Ian said he felt bad voting Boogie out.  Frank's heart is broken that Ian turned on Boogie.  And we go back into more of Frank harking on the house.  But when Ian became HoH for all of five minutes but it was a busy five minutes as everyone dragged Ian into their desperate pleas to nominate Frank and Ahsley and when Frank won the Veto, first thing out of his mouth, "Good decision Ian!"  Referring to Ian's decision to put Frank up instead of back-dooring him later.  We see more of Frank calling everyone out as we watched Ashley getting the boot out of the Big Brother house.

Ian tells Dan he feels like he's going to burn in hell for what he's done.  (Dude, this is the game of Big Brother and you know it!)

And BB blew the first 15 minutes of Sunday night's broadcast.  (Add that to the contestants repeating contest rules for each game, BB fills a lot of the hour with empty developments!)

Frank is still duped into thinking Dan talked Ian into the trick.  He's looking to see if anyone is still sticking with Dan or not.  Danielle breaks down and talks to Frank, but that didn't turn into anything.  Shane is worried about Frank winning HoH and ponders the idea of him and Britney making a deal with Frank.

The Head of Household competition was an interesting game of navigating a ball around an upright puzzle board, head-to-head.  Frank eliminated everyone but Shane...  (Live comment:  Will Shane pull this off or will Shane cut him off at the pass?)

AND FRANK BECOMES THE NEW HEAD OF HOUSEHOLD  and the the kissy-kissy routines begin.  Never mind that everyone was carrying a hatchet for him mere minutes ago.

Frank chooses Dan as the "Have Not" as his first job as HoH.

He then goes for Pandora's Box, and gets himself a bit over $3k.  By opening Pandora's Box, an extra veto gets unleashed into the game.  Then there's a game where the house guests can find some quarters, play that CLAW snagger machine game to get that second veto.

Dan gets his first shot at the box, but doesn't get the ball.  Then tells everyone he got it. But the ruse is up quickly and everyone realizes what Dan is all about.

SUDDENLY, DAN is getting pretty crappy with EVERYONE in the house during this game.  I've never seen him so ugly.  Then again, he's feeling desperate.

IAN Gets the 2nd Veto and Frank gets released from the Pandora room.

Frank tells Ian he'll be putting him up so he knows that Ian will use the 2nd veto on himself.  The game gets tricky now that there's a 2nd veto.  Britney is trying to "talk" Frank into certain premises, which if he listens, could end up leaving the 5-person alliance in the house.  Britney is pretty tricky.

But it looks like Frank fell for it again and trusted Britney and her plan.  (You can see her grinning as the keys go around.)

Frank put up Dan and Daniel for eviction.

Frank's in a tough spot and it seems his days may very well be limited.  No matter what anyone tells him and he chooses to believe, he's doomed unless the alliance collapses for some unknown reason.  And that reason might be Dan and how he started getting during the 2nd Veto contest.
