'Big Brother' Delayed Recap from Thursday (+ Spoilers for Sunday)

For those of you in the Bay Area, our version of Big Brother was eclipsed by a football game.  And no, I was not staying up until 2am to watch it.  So off to VoD I went today.

The episode recaps the noise from the last episode, including Amanda's ugly behavioral pattern.

So Amanda seems to continue her asinine behavior.  Gads, can't a studio light fall on her head and stop this horrible demonstration of ugly.  Please.

Amanda is a very ugly person at heart it would seem, if judging by her "game play" in the house.

Apparently there was very little going on...  we got an update on couples from previous seasons.

Rachel and Brendan are married.

Dani and Dominic are married.  Wow, someone got that wild child to settle down.

Jeff and Jordan are still together and Jeff has that chicken s*t mode and has not put a "ring on it" yet.

Observation:  Julie Chen has some serious heels on!  Wow!

House guest eviction time!
Judd voted to evict Aaryn

Spencer: Aaryn

GinaMarie: Aaryn

Amanda: Aaryn

McCrae: Aaryn

See ya Aaryn!

IN her exit interview with Julie, she called her on her racist and homo-phobic comments.  Aaryn said she does not remember saying those things, and the live audience cracked up laughing at her and that stupid statement.

In fact the audience cracked up on and off from things she said.

(What are the odds she's apologize her way back into her beauty pageant job?)

She seriously back-pedaled on her words earlier this season.  Damn, I smell a politician in the making.

Head of Household
contest involved moving plastic eggs through a maze of sorts, with the egg on the other side of a fence.  It's a finger dexterity test.

WHAT'S in STORE... they will televise who wins this HoH contest on Sunday night.  (But if you want to know who wins, and who gets nominated, look below.)

Next Thursday will be a double eviction episode.

Big Brother 15 Spoilers

GinaMarie wins the HoH, and she nominates Amanda and McCrae for eviction.

That means more of the ugliness from Amanda, I'm betting.

Syfy Trying To Capitalize on 'Face Off' With 'Camera Ready'

Admittedly, Syfy's reality series, Face Off, if entertaining and informative.

To watch aspiring makeup artists create great looking creations that have to stand up to the rigorous review of present-day industry experts, plus survive tests such as stage performances and what not, can be a hoot to watch.

It's a well rated series for the cable net.

Now, from the Mission Control Media is looking to possibly capitalize on the success of Face Off and is launching a new reality series called Camera Ready.

In this new reality competition series,

[press release snippet]:

"...ten visionary costume designers will stretch imagination and artistry by competing in challenges to create works of costume art for film, television and music videos. Each week, the contestants will realize fantastical characters through their dazzling costume creations, incorporating non-traditional materials and technology – such as fiber optics – into some pieces.  The contestants will be judged by a panel of industry heavy-weights - from Oscar-winning costume designers, cutting-edge directors and avant-garde fashionistas – with one designer ultimately taking home the $100,000 grand prize."

When I first heard of Face Off, I was not inspired.  But of course, was surprised.

Again, a contest about people dressing up actors does not seem all that inspiring to me.  Yet once again, I could be proven wrong.

We'll see!

No word on when Camera Ready will premiere yet on Syfy.

'Big Brother' 15 - Veto and TV MUTE Time, With Amanda in BUlly Mode

Tonight on Wednesday night's Big Brother episode, we have Aaryn and McCrae are up on the block.  Elissa, after nominating them, tells McCrae I hope you win the veto.

Amanda being ugly in Big Brother

Aaryn is devastated being on the other end of the nomination stick.  And is pouting in the Have-not room.  Boo, bummer, hoo!  Hey, I just made an original funny!!!

When will house guests ever learn that when two people stop talking as a person walks by is a BIG CLUE of something up.

Speaking of...  Amanda walked by Elissa and GinaMarie, who did the "stop talking" thing.  Then Amanda tried going off the deep end... again.  As usual. Oh the surprising shock of it all.

The poor censors are so busy with her.

I'd rather scrath my ass than listen to that f*ing zingbot 3000 things.

But, being that it's super late at night when everyone was asleep, all the girls are standing aruond in their underwear, and things look considerably better with the TV muted.

The muted picture showed GinaMaria laughing her ass off.  The girls seemed more entertained than the guys.

THURSDAY's BIG BROTHER episode will air at 2:39 AM Friday morning in the Bay Area, due to local football coverage.  SET YOUR VCR, VOD or WHY (What Have You) machines!

Then it goes into the VETO competition with the baby and adult zingbot.

Yes, my mute button is still on, but I saw that the worse case scenario for some of the players happened.  Amanda won the Power of Veto.  (What ever happened to her never winning these things???)

Amanda went on another Amanda-bully rage.  Amanda said "Elissa is made of plastic.  Ziiing!"  She then went on a pretend rage, then, per her plan, Andy was going to go up and soothe Elissa, hoping he won't be put up.

Amanda's such a disgusting player.  She's almost as bad as zingbot.  Judd called her disgusting and vile.

Veto meeting time:  Amanda uses the PoV on McCrae... I know.  Shocking.  I wonder when he'll get it about her. (What's up with the 'ho heels at the PoV ceremony Amanda?)  Having not gotten her way, Amanda tells Elissa to "sit down trash."

What a PoS.

Elissa is (trying) not to take the bait.

So now it's Aaryn and Andy on the eviction bubble.

'Getaway' And Other New Movies Premiering This Week, Aug 30th

This looks like a quiet weekend where possibly The Butler might hold out and take the number one spot at the box for a third week in a row.  Maybe.

All this while the noise or news of Ben Affleck getting the nod to play Batman in the upcoming Man of Steel sequel has lit the web on fire.  Everyone is chiming in about every little tick and fart online with regards to the news.  The frenzy is much like when Disney bought out Lucasfilm/Star Wars.

This week only interesting movie for potential genre fans is Getaway, with Ethan Hawke and Selena Gomez.

Morgan Spurlock is trying his hand at boy bands and Eric Bana leads with Rebecca Hall in a terrorist based movie.

Below the new movies is a list of movies still in theaters that still have punch at the ticket window.

The Butler is kicking butt but IMDb users are only giving it a 6.2.  What's up with that?  On the other hand, We're the Millers got a solid score of 7.2  and as far as weekend tallies, is close to The Butler's numbers.

The World's End didn't pound it out at the box office, but the fans of the movie and style of filmmaker Edgar Wright chimed in with a 7.8.

As much as I bank on IMDb user scores, you have to keep in mind that usually the fans of the genre are the ones chiming in.  If you disappoint them, you're seriously disappointing folks.  Yet this movie is also an acquired taste kind of comedy.  If his first two didn't hit it off with you (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz), I've been told this is no better.  Or to be precise, no different.

On the bright side, if you liked those, then I think you'll be in for a treat.

Kick-Ass 2 is fading and Woody Allen's Blue Jasmin rounds out the weekend's top-10, with a huge fan score on IMDb.

'Longmire' Season 2 Finale Left Exciting Cliff Hangers

The season two finale of Longmire, starring Robert Taylor came at us with a bit more energy and suspense than viewers are normally accustomed to.  And no, that was NOT a complaint.

In the Longmire episode titled "Bad Medicine," a lot comes to fruition while more rears its ugly head.

For one, Detective Fales (a fan favorite actor, Charles Dutton) shows up with search warrants all over the place.  And he's thorough, as he hits Walt's office, home and Henry Standing Bear's (Lou Diamond Phillips) bar.  All in his all-out concerted effort to find the killer of Walt's wife's killer, Miller.

But it's not all a bed of roses, because in an uncharacteristic move, Henry has kept a memento of the beat-down the wife-murderer took from a hired thug, Hector.  One hired by Henry.  Come on Henry!  Really?

But there's more.

There's a murder on the reservation, and well, actually a suicide that Walt and Branch (Bailey Chase) see via a video tape.  This guy's name is Ridges but the odd part is, initially, that there's no body.

In subsequent conversation between Branch and Jacob Nighthorse (A Martinez), it seems that Jacob "found" the body, and took it out and gave Ridges a proper Indian burial ceremony, fire and all.

Nighthorse shows Branch where the funeral pyre was, but threatens him to never step foot on the land again to get DNA evidence.

Vic's (Katee Sackhoff) troublesome tormentor, Ed Gorski (Lee Tergesen) to a bloody pulp.  The odd thing is that Gorski seems pleased it happened, as he could implicate Walt and Vic in the situation.

Vic tries to clear the air with the dip-weed, but to no avail.

By the end of the Longmire season finale, Walt is carrying Branch over his shoulder off the reservation.  Branch went back to get that DNA evidence and someone shot him.  In his weakened state, he said a dead man shot him.  Whaaa?

Henry gets arrested and looks like he'll be toted off to jail for the murder of Miller, but having not done it, we're left with who would hate Walt enough to make this happen?

Gorski checks out of the hospital, but leaves a note for her, saying see you soon.  Vic is pretty wound up and is laying in wait with her service pistol at the ready.

And that's how the season finale left us... baited and waiting for season three of Longmire.

Who shot Branch?  Was this some hokey bulls*t to get the cops off of Ridge's case, since Ridge seems to be implicated in Cady's (Cassidy Freeman) tire going flat and her getting hit by a car?

How will Vic end up dealing with this dick-weed named Gorski.  There's only one way to stop a man like him.  But will it come down to that?

With Henry headed to the klinker, and evidence pointing to the fact that someone NOT Walt, Henry or Hector having killed Miller, we have an entirely new can of worms to open up.  But who?  Cady maybe?  That would be one hell of a twist.

But more importantly, we have yet to hear about a season three renewal for Longmire.  But I can't imagine A and E's show NOT getting renewed.  If A and E renewed it for a second season, with a tad over 4M viewers on average, I would be surprised it does not come back.  The second season pulled in almost consistent but slightly higher numbers than the first season did.

And as the show becomes less about standard, canned police work and more of a serialized nature, I can't help but wonder how much better it will get.

Cross your fingers folks!!!

'Breaking Bad' Recap of "Confessions" - It's Gone Again...

After this, there is only five episodes of Breaking Bad left.  The heat is cranking up and all characters are starting to revv up for the series finale.

recap of 'Breaking Bad' episode titled "Confessions"

The episode, titled "confessions," opens to Todd recounting his adventures with Jesse and Walter while robbing the train. This to two hacks from his new drug ring.  Seriously, did he not remember Walter saying way back, never tell anyone?

Jerk wad.  And it looks like he's headed back into NM, with intent to cook the blue.  He thinks he can do it.

Back from commercial break, we watch Hank try to get Jesse to talk, but basically, Jesse says "eat me."  Then Saul showed up.

Hank is despondent about his lack of cooperation from Walter's associates.

Going to break, we see Walter filming a confession.  I wonder what lies will be in there?

recap of 'Breaking Bad' episode titled "Confessions"

Back from break, Walter, Sky, Hank and Marie are meeting for dinner in a public location.  Wha???  Hank looks pretty intense.  But this is Walter, asking them to leave his kids out of it.  Nothing more.  And Sky is on board with thinking the kids are safe.

Walt is such a dick, tossing sympathy blame towards Hank about letting it go because of the kids.  Then Marie makes a brutal suggestion, that Walt should kill himself.

Hank about confessing:  "Be a man and step up.  There is no other option."

Walt and Sky leave, and Walt gives him his "confession video."  Wow, what a f*er!  It's his "confession" of working for Hank and using Hank's connections to build a meth business.

Walter has hit new lows with this video tape and this is going to put Hank in a very fascinating corner.

I have no idea what I'd do in his situation.  Dang.

Far out in the desert, Saul and Jesse meet Walter.  It's here that Walter learns from Jesse that Hank has not told anyone else in his office.

Walter suggests Jesse leave town and get away from town.  Start with a clean slate.  Jesse breaks down, asking Walt to quit working him.  Walt hugs him and I can't tell if it's genuine or his usual devious mode.

Skylar is spacing out, but Walter is convinced his little video trick worked.  What a sanctimonious bitch.  (I'm talking Walt, not Sky)

recap of 'Breaking Bad' episode titled "Confessions"

It's looking like Jesse might be taking Walter's advice, but Jesse doesn't look so hot.  While Jesse waits for his ride out of town, something hits him.  That Saul stole the Ricin cigarette from him.  And he's seriously ticked!

In the subsequent scene, we see the duality of Walt's psych.  He comes ripping up to the entrance of the car wash, then as he touches the door, he changes instantly from frantic, to calm.

The episode ends with an angry Jesse dousing the inside of Walt's house with gasoline.

I'm wondering if this new twist from Walt, with the video, which threatens not only Hank, but Sky's sister, Marie, might push Sky in the right direction finally.

Upcoming episode titles include To'hajiilee, Ozymandias, Granite State and Felina.

'Big Brother' 15 terse recap for a Sunday: Tasty Nail Polish and Nominations!

Like I told you a few days ago in my last recap, Elissa won HoH and Judd got back into the Big Brother house.

But it seems very little is up this week, at least that's what I surmise because they seemed to draw it out prettly long with tidbits, recaps and what not during the competition. And I must say, this looked like a truly challenging game that was tough on the players, requiring their total focus, while entertaining to the viewer.

What's great is that as soon as Judd wins his way back into the house, almost everyone to a tee panics about how he's coming in, gunning for them.

The usual nomination begging dance starts up with everyone pinging off of Elissa.

Karma comes in Funny ways:  Aaryn absent mindedly tanked a gulp of her nail polish remover.

And the nominations that Elissa put up are Aaryn and McCrae.

LOL... McCrae says it sucks and that he's got to get himself off the block and keep Amanda from saying stupid things.

Aaryn balls her eyes out that Elissa singled her out.

Boom!  See ya next episode of Big Brother.

'Big Brother' Eviction Result and Returning Player Twist (w SPOILERS for Sunday)

Julie Chen calls it "history will be made," when an evicted player is getting a chance to return to the game.  But I have to say, the term "history," seems a bit much to describe this new twist.

Helen is pitching reasons to stay.  She even plays the "McCrae, imagine what it will be like when you're married to Amanda" mode.  She tells him he has to have the balls to go against Amanda.

Amanda has been told most of what Helen is saying, and I'm surprised she hasn't blown up at her.

Amanda was called "assertively honest" by Spencer, when she asked if she was seen as a bully.  LMAO.

With those annoying intros from Julie Chen, each house mouse casts their eviction votes

McCrae - Helen
Amanda - Helen
Ellisa - Spencer
Andy   - Helen
GinaMarie - Helen

She's evicted and there's the usual sniffle-fest after she leaves.

Well...  Helen is out the door, but into the fight to re-enter the game between the jurors.  But how seemingly unfair.  The jurors are fully fueled up while Helen has been a have-not and when she asked about food, Julie said it's part of the game.

The four jurors compete at the same time as the rest of the household competes for HoH.  So the jurors are competing to get back in, but if a juror wins the game, they get back in and become HoH.

They say they'll show us on Sunday who won what.

Judd gets back into the game and Ellisa wins HoH.

OH 'Big Brother' For A Wed., Veto Night, 8-21-13

Andy and Helen chat, Andy fakes crying.

Amanda and McCrae making out, Elissa is the buzzkill that comes in the room.

Spencer's mad that Helen wants to back door him into the nominations.

The PoV game has a giant mechanical beaver hosting the game.  It's voiced by and sounds like that PoS ZingBot thing.  That thing alone can drive me away from this show.

GinaMarie is the first to be eliminated.  Helen was next out. (Amanda thinks this seals her fate.)  Then Andy.  Aaryn.  And then it's down to Spencer and Elissa.  But Elissa was tearing it up.  She's playing like a football player and plowing over people.

In the end, the VETO WINNER was Elissa.

Elissa is so much like her sister.  One week, falling apart, thinking about quitting.  The next, kicking ass, taking names and declaring victory to the end.  So next week, she'll be balling again?

During a simple recall of the "wine incident," Amanda and Aaryn get a wee bit on the feisty side!  LET IT GO AMANDA.  Jeezus.

It's POV time... Elissa uses the PoV on Helen and Aaryn replaces her with Spencer.  (No shock)  But she caps her replacement nom with the statement, "Because this is the corner I'm being pushed into."

Aaryn needs to spine up.

'Survivor' Blood vs. Water, Contestants Announced... Team Bios

The upcoming season of Survivor, themed Blood vs. Water, will premiere a 90-minute episode on Wednesday, Sept 18th.  [Parent site Brusimm:-2013-2014-fall-tv-season-premiere-date-schedule ]

Survivor Blood vs Water Contestants

The season will have former contenders competing with family, and eventually, against the loved ones that were stupid enough to come along!  Some family dynamics might make this very interesting.

I always wonder when dating couples hit up a reality stress series, how much longer they have together?  :P

Be it as it may, here's the press release

Special 90-Minute Season Premiere Airs Wednesday, Sept. 18

CBS announced today the 20 castaways who will compete against each other on SURVIVOR, when the Emmy Award-winning series returns for its 27th season with a special 90-minute premiere, Wednesday, Sept. 18 (8:00-9:30 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
The fall edition of SURVIVOR, themed "Blood vs. Water," will feature former players competing with – and ultimately against – their loved ones who share the same goal: to outwit, outplay, outlast and ultimately be crowned Sole Survivor. Will the returnees use their prior experience in the game to help their partners or will they leave their relatives alone to fend for themselves? Alliances and relationships will be tested and bonds will be broken when mothers, daughters, brothers, spouses and partners vie against each other in the ultimate competition, raising the question: which is thicker – Blood or Water?
This edition of SURVIVOR will feature the return of Redemption Island, where castaways who have been eliminated from the game can seek redemption and return for a chance to win the million dollar prize.  The twist this season, however, is loved ones will be forced to choose whether to "save" their partner on Redemption Island and switch places with them, thus allowing their loved one to immediately re-enter the game, or leave them in exile to survive on their own.
