Here's a bit of quick TV news bites... for those of you without a ton of time to read filler banter, but want to know what's going on. (Crap... that was filler banter, wasn't it?)

Christopher Lloyd is joining the cast of Syfy's 12 Monkeys in its third season. It will be crazy to see Lloyd play a "deadly cult leader."

FX renewed American Crime Story for a third season. (No, the second season had not aired yet. It's due out in 2017, so this third season thing can still be cut off at the knees of for someone reason no one tunes into the second season of the show.)

America's Next Top Model will be premiering in its new network, VH1, on Monday, December 12th. (I know, it's like the in-laws that just won't leave!)

CBS has ordered a new game show, Candy Crush, based on the mobile app game.

Guilt was cancelled by Freeform. There will be no second season of the show.

The Loud House was given a go for a third season on Nickelodeon.

Salvation is a new series from Alex Kurtzman, coming to CBS for the 2017 summer TV season. The show is about an MIT grad student and a techie who tell a low-level Pentagon official that an asteroid is going to hit the Earth in six months.

Gwen Stafani will be returning to The Voice in the next season or "the spring edition" of the show. She'll be taking her seat back from Miley Cyrus. Miley will pop back in after the next season.

POKEMON GO, Pesky Third Party Trackers, Upcoming Goodies

The top two-thirds of this piece are observational opinions. The bottom third is where we get to the upcoming cool stuff from Niantic.

Depending on what side of the fence you are on, third party trackers that dig up where monsters (mons) are in Pokemon Go can be a god-send for some if not all the players who partake in the chase of this digital mons fighting ring. For the casual player the trackers are a blessing.

I for one, being a casual player, don't have time to go "hunt" down wild Pokemon! But I do enjoy playing or tinkering with the game at my odd, quiet moments. I make a few minutes a day for it and sometimes find myself doing chores where I choose to walk instead of drive or ride a bike. (Though it pisses me off that you can't just ride a bike... you have to go so slow on a bike, you almost fall over as you wobble around at under 6 mph. And recently, Niantic shut down Pokemon showing up in your app when on a train, bus or in a car. Thanks guys. Keeping that downward slide of users going!)

                                                                    Amazon: Pokemon toys, games, paraphernalia

So the third party trackers are fun. HEY, if I'm sitting at my desk and I pull up a tracker and see that a Drowzee or Ryhorn is just a few hundred feet away in a specific spot, I will probably pause my DVR or take a bit of a break from work, crank up my game and run after it!

But if I pull up my PoGo app, see on the radar that a Drowzee is nearby, I am not inspired because I have no way of knowing which direction to go looking for it. SO I'm not going to waste my time. It's as simple as that.

I won't waste my time because I don't know how long it will be around, or if I finally do find it, will I only get one ball toss chance to catch it before it leaves when its time is up, etc.. No, that's how I get pissed off at Niantic, when I throw an Ultra ball at a 100CP mon and it escapes and leaves my area because its time is up.

So I decided to go ahead and check out Syfy's Shadows of the Dead that aired this last weekend.

The cast included Kennedy Tucker, Lisa Cole (Detective Force), Lindsay Elston, James Gaisford, Brian Maierhofer (Love & Other Ingredients). It was directed by John Ross, which it looks like this might be his first real directorial gig.

With that said, my quick take on the film is that the story is a great story, done well, but it takes way too long to tell the tale and the music chosen to create the ambience just kept droning on and on in an attempt to create a somber feeling to the story. (I presume)

The story is about a shadow monster needing to kill people who end up getting marked for death by it, and as the film goes on, you can see it hunt its victims down and finding them, no matter what they do.

If you back up and look at the overall theme of the film, you can see and feel this "Final Destination" vibe. But Ross takes way too long to tell the tale.

This was a two-hour TV movie and if it had been trimmed down to 90-minutes, I think it would have been much better.

All in all, It's an OK movie with a fun story and monster behind it all.

POKEMON GO HOLIDAY Halloween In-Game Event

POKEMON GO Halloween Game Event

Hey gang, I just caught a piece over Game Rant that Pokemon-Go is have a Halloween Event special IN THE APP, running from October 26th to November 1st. So aside from AMCs Fear Fest or Syfy's 31 Days of Halloween television programming, we now have ourselves some PoGo Halloween fun!

The special event will be run from within the app, so there's nothing any user has to do but enjoy the bonuses in the game during this scary part of the year.

First up, we'll be seeing MORE spooky ghost Pokemon all over the place. Specifically, gen 1 versions of the ghastly little ghouls and the like, such as Drowzee, Gastly, Gengar, Golbat, Haunter, Hypno, and Zubat. (Drowzees are cute, with their little wiggly fingers...)

BUT there's something else that is going to occur within the dates of Oct 26 to Nov 1: users will be getting MORE CANDY!

-Normal catches, transferring Pokemon to the Professor and hatching Pokemon will net you double the candies you normally get.

-Buddy Pokemon will earn four times as much candy as normal!

This will be a fun period of time from Niantic, though to be honest, I'd love it if we also reaped bonus multipliers on the Stardust so we could put these bonus candies to good use! Right?

OR if there was a glitch and the special ran longer than intended!  OK, now I'm getting greedy!

Who Was Deborah Gresham, THE TALKING DEAD

At the end of this week's The Walking Dead companion show, The Talking Dead show, we saw a memorial saying,

"In Loving Memory of Deborah Gresham. A huge fan forever in our hearts."

Who was Deborah Gresham?

Deborah was the originator of a Walking Dead Facebook fan page called Zombie Killers two. It's a 'closed group,' but it has just under 21,000 members.

Sadly, Deborah was killed in a traffic accident when a car hit her while she was riding her bicycle in Orange County, California.

The driver of the car had been arrested on "Suspicion of felony hit and run, felony DUI and vehicular manslaughter." Turns out that after the collision, he had driven home, but witnesses had followed him home.

She was the 63rd bicycle fatality in CA this year.  That's such a sad way to pass.

She must have been a very energetic person, who had a passion for The Walking Dead. Running FaceBook pages takes a lot of work and dedication.

Our thoughts go out to her family and friends.

Fox's ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW Remake, A Karaoke Version With An Audience

Well, Fox's remake of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, titled The Rocky Horror Picture Show: Let's Do the Time Warp Again, has come and gone and Fox took the very safe route of pretty much, letter for letter, redoing the original 1975 film that is still filling movie theaters with midnight screenings and their huge cult following.

The remake itself pulled in just under 5 million viewers, which according to sources, was a huge disappointment as far as musicals on TV go. Then again, it aired against Thursday Night Football. Despite that, everything else in the same time slot outperformed this Rocky copy.

And just in case you were wondering if any lip-syncing was taking place, technically, there was. But it was the cast lip-syncing to their own pre-recorded songs.

Then there was the addition of the pseudo live movie theater audience watching the show, much like cult fans do at the midnight screenings.  So that was different, but a weak try at making it somehow or somewhat original, as far as remakes go.

But as I watched it, I thought I would compare today's remake against the original Rocky Horror, and see where it stood out or fell short.

- - -

Brad Majors, played by Ryan McCartan, was on par with the original, played by  Barry Bostwick.

Janet Weiss, played by Victoria Justice,  was a nice change up, as she took the most initiative in how she delivered her songs, and was the sexiest part of the entire show. She did the part justice, shining above par from the role played originally by Susan Sarandon.

Riff Raff (Reeve Carney) was a good, honest recreation of the original, with a bit of a punk rocker twist.

DID YOU KNOW that the original actor who played Riff Raff, Richard O'Brien, wrote the original musical stage show that inspired the first movie. And he co-wrote the '75 film.

SUPERGIRL on CW, A Perspective

Well, Supergirl completed the move from CBS to The CW, and we got a decent taste of what is to come in the upcoming season. We got our taste of Superman, Cat Grant, Supergirl and the rest of the gang.

As the show was moving to The CW, we had expectations and promises. We "knew" that Calista Flockhart was going to move with the show to its new production location and what not.

But some things were, shall we say, temporary.

We knew that Superman was only going to be around for an episode or two, but when we had heard that Flockhart was coming with the show, we didn't expect it to be for an episode or two. And per sources, they say she's slated to return for a few episodes here and there, but the production team has yet to set any dates for that return, stating how busy she is.  Phfft.

So at the end of the second episode, Kara has a new, hard-edged boss and Cat is leaving town.

Cat was half the soul of the show. I hope her leaving does not ding the series ratings. They did tease a lot of CGI action, which confuses me a bit, considering the series just left the money bag network and hit up the network that has more of a tighter budget.

Well, as the season progresses, we've heard that despite the comics cannon, Jimmy Olsen will be becoming his own superhero. That should boost up the story a bit.

I hope the show keeps up the standards it set back on CBS...

Dont' Waste Poke Coins On POKEMON GO Incense, Get The Incubator Instead

Dont' Waste Coins On POKEMON GO Incense

I will usually give something two tries, and on the rare occasion, three, to see if something is worth it or not. For my Pokemon Go experience, I have tried the incense module five times now.  The first two times I did not know any better and I thought it was fun to kick back in my living room, around midnight, watching TV, and cranking up the PoGo incense.

There are tactical ways to use this feature... use it in regions where the Pokemon you want, hang out. If you go to a down-town area, get ready for a hoard of pigeons, monkeys and a case of the digital crabs.

The common recommendation is to use incense while walking. (It is a walking game, they say!)

But something caused me to take note of this added feature and I started paying close attention to a few things. And after a bit of scrutiny, I have now decided to say that I will...

Never Drop Another Poke Coin on Incense in Pokemon Go... Ever Again

Or at least that's how I'm going to go about this.  But why, do you ask, will I never drop hard-earned poke-coins on incense?

Glad you asked!

Everyone out there is calling this the first trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2... but Marvel Entertainment is calling it a sneak peek. Sooo, sneak peek trailer? I would think Marvel knows what they're saying, but heck, for whatever it's called, here's the first trailer-like preview of Vol 2!

Here you go...

Is HAWAII FIVE-0 Ending With Season Seven?

Is HAWAII FIVE-0 Ending With Season Seven?

What the hell is up with the production standards of Hawaii Five-0? I just binge watched last season (six) and the front part of this season (seven) and to be honest, if feels like something has run afoul in the production department.

First let's address the elephant in the room: Alex O'Loughlin, it's been said, will be exiting the show at the end of the eighth season. Apparently he does his own stunts and his body is taking a beating. He needs time to recuperate.  Yet if you look carefully at some of the stunts, you can see it's a stunt double much of the time. So I'm not sure what that banter is about.

But at the moment, I have to ask if the show will even make it to the eighth season?

On Amazon: Hawaii Five-0

It all started in the latter part of the sixth season that I was binge watching. In particular, the episode where a circus elephant runs rampant through town after escaping.

They obviously opted to not use a live elephant, and instead, used what look like the same CGI graphics software that Syfy/The Asylum do when they make their cheap creature features. To be honest, they would have been better off just alluding to an elephant and not using one.

But after that, I started watching with more of a critical eye and there are things that are just starting to stand out to me that seem to be reeking of cheap production values.

I swear that of late, some of the car chase scenes also use tragic CGI effects, gun fire and other other effects also seem to be off-queue.

And the 'old married couple' banter between McGarrett and Dano is seriously getting extremely old. Sure, it was cute in the beginning, but the non-stop banter is like watching a married couple who hate each other rip into each other.

Then in the season seven premiere, that CGI staged appearance by the late Jack Lord was horrible. HORRIBLE! If you can't do it halfway right, don't do it all.

Alphabetical POKEMON GO Monster Chart

POKEMON GO evolution chart, listed alphabetically.

I can't tell you how many times I've had to try and figure out where on the chart my Pokemon Go pocket monster is on a chart when I look thing up. I mean, seriously, some of us do not know these things. SO when I try to research things on PokemonGoHub or TheSilphRoad, I'm always scanning visually for my pocket monster until I find it. Now over on PokemonGoEvolution, they have an awesome evolution chart with large images of your mon, but they are ordered by the numbers. Still.

I decided to make myself a shortcut list and since I had it, I thought I'd share it here, a list of pocket monsters, alphabetically.

The first list includes the 0 and 3 step evolution charts, while the second list is just the 2nd evolved monsters with one more evolution to their name.

If you guys see a better way to sort this, or ideas to add to it, LET ME KNOW. I'm open to suggestions to help us all out.  Thanks for coming by...

LOGAN First Trailer Is Out

LOGAN First Trailer Is Out

Below is the first (international) official (offisiell) trailer for Logan, starring Hugh Jackman, in supposedly, his last time playing the regenerative mutant. It also stars Patrick Stewart, as we get to meet the female Wolverine, X-23.

The film is not yet rated and is due out early March of 2017. Rumors say no rating has been announced yet because they're still considering going hard R instead of those dumbass PG-13 rated films. The rest of that rumor is that because Deadpool did so well, being rate R, is the reason they're considering it.

Any way, get ready for a kind of western feel as you watch the movie trailer.

Amazon ordered up a fourth season of Bosch!

American Gothic was cancelled by CBS.

BrainDead was dropped on its head and cancelled by CBS.

Scream has been renewed for a third season by MTV, but there's a hitch: It's only for six episodes. That ep count seems more like a warning bell than a good thing.

Finding Prince Charming as been renewed for a second season from Logo.

Ricky Gervais fans will be happy to know that ABC ordered a game show from Mr. Gervais called Five to Survive. The format will have adults answering questions with cash prizes as the end-goal.  The adults will be getting help from Gervais and a panel of children. No premiere date has been set yet.

As much as I didn't like Syfy's Van Helsing, enough people tuned in to warrant Syfy's ordering up a second season of the show.

AMC already ordered an eighth season of The Walking Dead... before season seven even started!

LUKE CAGE, Harlem's Hero: The Best Street-Wise Hero Show Ever

LUKE CAGE, The Best Street-Wise Hero Show Ever

Marvel's Luke Cage, starring Mike Colter as Luke Cage, with Alfre Woodard, Simone Missick, Theo Rossi, (Yes, that Theo Rossi, AKA, Juice) Mahershala Ali, Rosario Dawson and more.

To be honest, there's so much good to say about the show that I'm not sure where to start.

I'm so sad that Luke Cage on Netflix only had 13 episodes. The story was more gripping than anything Netflix and Marvel have put out together to date and I can't wait for the next season of the show.

Luke Cage products on Amazon

The series is about a man turned into a super-hero against his will, and while he tried living a quiet life, finds himself reluctantly pulled into the limelight and having to stand up to evil in its many forms.

Colter plays the bullet-proof hero like a man possessed. All he wants to do is be left alone, and they won't let it be. He fixes one problem, another pops up. Each new problem is more deadly and vicious than the previous. I feel like they cast this character well. Luke is not super fast or gymnastically inclined, but like a bulldozer, he can get the job done.

Alfre Woodard is deliciously captivating in her character progression throughout the episodes. You definitely enjoy hating her. I mean, she is a politician, right?

The one who stood out to me, as a fan of his from his Sons of Anarchy days, is Theo Rossi (Who played Juice on SoA). In Luke Cage, Rossi plays Hernan "Shades" Alvarez, the right-hand man to crime boss Diamondback (Erik LaRay Harvey).

It was announced this week that Murder in the First has been cancelled by TNT, meaning that the season finale we caught on September 4th, has now become it's series finale.

The series, starring Taye Diggs and Kathleen Robertson, was one of my household's favorite shows. I loved how each season tackled a single crime, wrapping it up like it should be wrapped, by the season finale.

But hearing that TNT cancelled it kind of bummed me out, because the underlying story that kept me riveted was what our two main characters were going to do about their love/work relationship.

They had to break up to continue working their jobs because neither one wanted to abandon the career they both loved. But as the season was ending, it seemed like they might have slowly started to lose the fight about staying apart.  But nothing was clear. I was hoping.

I guess that won't get resolved.

Plus, that ahole defense attorney skated with his hit-and-run, and I was really looking forward to him getting his boat load of karma in the next season.

THE WALKING DEAD preview, Spider-Man, Halt and Catch Fire's final season, The Expanse

The Walking Dead's seventh season is returning on Sunday, October 23rd. But before that, the Sunday before that, on October 16th, will be a review/preview show called The Walking Dead: Journey So Far.

via press release:

In preparation for the highly-anticipated Season 7 premiere of “The Walking Dead,” AMC will air a two-hour retrospective, “The Walking Dead: Journey So Far,” on Sunday, October 16 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT.  During the special, fans can get up close and personal with the cast as they tell the stories of their characters from the moment they were introduced to where they were when last season ended. Clips from the most pivotal moments in series history will be intercut between cast and executive producer interviews.

Season by season, from the moment Rick wakes up in the hospital (as told by Andrew Lincoln), all the way to the excruciating first swing of Negan's bat, the story of “The Walking Dead” will be told by those who have lived it. “The Walking Dead: Journey So Far” gives viewers who have never seen an episode of “The Walking Dead” a chance to get all caught up on the plot, characters, locations, and unique terminology of the series as well as providing fans who‘ve never missed a moment with fresh interviews with the series’ producers and their favorite actors as part of an exciting refresher course that will further whet their appetite for the new season.

The first half of Season 7 sees the group fractured, broken, bereaved, and picking up the pieces while living under the thumb of oppression. Negan will have successfully brought the survivors under his will, brutally convincing them to live under his rules with a deadly and horrific example of what happens if they don’t.

Netflix has picked up Syfy's The Expanse. Head smack!

I'm just biased but after reading the books, this watered down and puffed up version of the books the story is based off of is rather flimsy and not entertaining.

They've changed the relationships of the characters, added some seriously boring filler content that never existed in the books, and skip over other details that feel critical.

IF you are book-minded, you might want to pick up the book series and read that. It's an incredible read.

But as a show goes, had I not read the books, I probably would have enjoyed Syfy's latest attempt at replicating their Battlestar Galactica success they had several years ago.

POKEMON GO 0.41.2 Patch Coming! (A Quickie Review)

POKEMON GO 0.42.1 Patch news

News on the street is that Niantic just submitted to Apple and Google, the latest update/patch for Pokemon GO.

The last time we heard about an update, it took a few weeks to get to us. But in the meantime, here's what we can look forward to from 0.41.2:

- Catch Bonus: Trainers can earn a catch bonus for a Pokémon type as they catch more of a specific type.

- Updated Gym Training: Trainers can now bring six Pokémon to battle at friendly Gyms. The CP of the Pokémon you are battling may be temporarily adjusted lower for your training session.

- Egg & Incubator Screens: These will periodically update the distance walked without the Trainer needing to close and reopen the screen.

- Fixed several audio issues.

- Decreased the evolution animation time. (By five seconds)

- Minor fixes.

- - -

I wonder if the catch bonus is retroactive?

I hope the audio issues covered include being able to play well with other apps when they kick in some sound. Like plugging in a charge cable.

There's a lot more detail over at PokemonGo HUB.

UPDATE/REVIEW of 0.42.1: I've downloaded and installed the update on my Samsung S6 via the APK file and have been using it for a day.

-It feels like my awareness zone/circle is little bigger.

-I see the new badges or bonus bubbles that pop up. It seems mildly retroactive as I received a bonus right away.

-The Gym Training is more fun and you aren't getting your ass handed to you quite as fast. Though I think they'll probably be making a few adjustments to the system because I was able to level up a gym somewhat easily, albeit, time consuming and it was a lower level gym. (Level two to three)

-The audio issues I've been experiencing were not addressed. Phone ringing kills the sound. When you plug in a USB power charger cable, it kills the sound.

-The evolution screen time does not feel like it was reduced. That does not mean it isn't, but it just does not feel like it.

-No, my phone does not stay on. If left untouched for 10 minutes, it hibernates, even with Pokemon Go running. Boo!

-I have not bought into the Pokemon Go PLUS device, so I can't tell you what fixes work there.

-At the moment, not sure what else may have been fixed.
