Top-10 Movies: Rekindled Love Beats out Safe Houses and 3D Re-releases

This last weekend, love rekindled seems to have stepped up and in a close box office battle for the top-10 movies battle, beat out, by box office estimates, Safe House.  But on the bright side, the new movies from last weekend dominated top spots 1 through 4.

The Vow, starring Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum pulled in $41 million while Safe House, with Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds pulled in around $39M.

After a huge gap in bucks, Journey 2: The Mysterious Island with Dwayne Johnson, Michael Caine and Josh Hutcherson beat out the 3D re-release of Star Wars Episode 1, $27M to $23M... but still, it's a respectable performance for the Star Wars re-release in 3D as I'm sure some new fans were introduced to the movie on the big screen.

I was surprised by what I was seeing out on the social networks as to the number of folk talking about headed out to see the movie.

Meanwhile, Chronicle took 5th in the charts, followed by a few others... check out the chart below.
