The Winner of 'Face Off' S2 and Season Finale Recap

Welcome to Cinema Static's Face Off season 2 finale recap!  This is what it has come down to:  Rayce, Ian, & RJ are facing off against each other in Syfy's Face Off.

Our three finalists are in the house and they get to chat with their families.  Rayce and his wife and kids, Ian and his girlfriend, RJ and his younger sister.  After that bit, they are rejuvenated emotionally for the day.

They meet with McKenzie Westmore and she tells them that they will each be creating three characters that will be put to the test and used in a live dance stage performance!

They get to pick from genres.  RJ picks first and chooses Fantasy.  Rayce gets Sci Fi, leaving horror for Ian.  Ian is not too plussed.  He wanted fantasy... but would settle for Sci Fi.  Oops.

-

The boys also get their evicted teammates back to help them tackle this task... they're the bosses for this challenge.

Ian seems to get right on track, RJ is fuddled trying to pick something and Rayce seems on track with his project.

They all meet the choreographers for the stage event and even though RJ seemed on track, the choreographers ixnayed his idea because the dancers need to be able to move freely.
McKenzie's father shows up also to chat them contestants up... the venerable Michael Westmore!  Too awesome.

The finale judging took place in the Alex Theater in Los Angeles and they head to the location for "last looks" and adding their finishing touches.  Then have their works of art display for a live audience in the theater.

The audience gets to vote and that vote will also sway the judges... to some extent.

The Demonstration

Ian's trio goes first.  Yes, each man had to decorate three characters.  Crazy?  Yep.

RJ's tragic troupe of characters is next.  (Thematically tragic... not a bad job!)  But the crowd doesn't seem so exited about his products.

Rayce's team of three is next... I'm no expert, but Rayce's seemed pretty cool of the three groups.

But that was the static display... next up was the dance part.

The dance was more aggressive than I expected it to be but no heads or other parts seemed to come off.  That was impressive.  But as the crowd applauds, Rayce takes note where some of his product came apart.

The audience is dispatched and the judges step up to look more closely at what's left of the creations.

Ian: Exceptional concept and the makeup was something our judges said they've never seen before.

RJ:  Interesting and unique.  His mother earth head piece was from hemp.  But nothing but praise still.

Rayce was last up:  His makeup had the most wear and tear, but his makeup was exceptional.  His three-face creation was "creepy."

The judges said that this final task made their jobs very difficult.  Also, the audience like Rayce's work the most.  While I'm writing this, I'm thinking Rayce will win...  now, let's see if my call is right!

The deliberations was nothing but good, constructive stuff from the judges, unlike most of the season.

And the winner of Syfy's Face Off is Rayce

Congratulations to Rayce for winning season two of Face Off!  Hey...  the winner gets a hug from McKenzie????  I want on the show!
