ENCORE Channel September Programming Highlights

If you receive Encore Channel no your cable box, you might be interested to see what this channel has in store for viewers for the month of September.    Traditionally Encore shows older movies that sometimes don't spark one's interest. At least every time I check out my cable guide, but this list below has some interesting movies... including the Labor Day superhero movie marathon & Arnold Schwarzenegger spotlight day.

We are pleased to share with you the September 2012 programming round up for all ENCORE channels. September highlights include the U.S. television premiere of "The Crimson Petal and the White," starring Romola Garai and Chris O'Dowd, along with Gillian Anderson.  "The Crimson Petal and the White" miniseries kicks off ENCORE's "The Big Miniseries Showcase," a weekly programming destination of classic and fan favorite miniseries, which will also feature the Golden Globe® winner "Shogun" and the EMMY® nominated "The Pillars of the Earth" this month.

Relive some of the most memorable superhuman battles of our time during the Labor Day "Superheroes" Marathon, which includes all four Superman films starring Christopher Reeve; Flash Gordon; Hulk; The Green Hornet; Batman Returns; and more.

Encore's The Big Miniseries Showcase event kicks off with the U.S. television premiere of "The Crimson Petal and the White" is set in the dark underbelly of Victorian-era London. The story is a tale of seduction, power and class conflict, centered around the vibrant prostitute Sugar. Sugar is intelligent, sexually adept and determined to escape the brothel run by the contemptible Mrs. Castaway.

SHOGUN
Monday, Sept. 17 – Saturday, Sept. 22 at 8pm (followed by marathon on Sunday, Sept. 23rd at 10am)
Winner of three Golden Globe® Awards, "Shogun" is chronicles John Blackthorne, an English ship pilot, whose Vessel wrecked upon the Japanese coast in the early 17th century, is forced to deal with the two most powerful men in Japan. He is thrown in the midst of a war between Toranaga and Ishido, who struggle for the title of 'Shogun' which will give ultimate power to the one who possesses it.
THE PILLARS OF THE EARTH

The EMMY® nominated miniseries "The Pillars of the Earth" which originally debuted on STARZ, is a
