'Avengers Age of Ultron' Sequel News... Vin Diesel's Character in 'Guardians'

I know most of the world knows this information, but for my buddies and readership, just in case you haven't heard the news, here it is:

Vin Diesel confirmed in an interview with the L.A. Times that he'll be voicing the character of Groot in Marvel's Guardian of the Galaxy movie.  There's been subsequent news that he could also be providing some motion capture action for the movie too.

That's a big bonus for pulling in fans to see this relatively unknown set of characters.

Sure, the core fan base of this particular title are pretty happy to see this movie happening. But for most, it's like, who???

So I suspect we'll be seeing all kinds of marketing geared toward pulling in the regular movie fan who isn't familiar with the franchise title.

The movie is due out in August of 2014.

Below could be considered Plot SPOILERS for Avengers: The Age of Ultron

We previously noted that Joss Whedon made note that Dr. Hank Pym won't be creating the evil robot, Ultron, like he did in the comics.

Instead, we heard rumors, which might be getting substantiated, of who will be creating the robot.

According to a casting call out there, Tony Stark/Iron Man may be the one who ends up building Ultron.  Unwillingly.

-

It will definitely be interesting just how they work that in, but if they pull out Hank Pym from the equation of how Ultron comes to be, Tony Stark makes the next best bet.

Marvel has contorted some character histories in other movies, so it would not be something new to see.

-

In the sequel, we'll be introduced to Quicksilver, the Scarlet Witch, and The Falcon!  (Word on the street is that we'll see The Falcon first in the Capt. America sequel.)  Also we'll get a eyeful more of Hawkeye and Black Widow.

-

The cast includes

Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey Jr., Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Pietro Maximoff/Quicksilver, Chris Evans, Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo, Samuel L. Jackson and Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/The Falcon.

-

The Avengers: Age of Ultron is scheduled to hit theaters on May 1, 2015.
