'Wonder Woman' In 'Man of Steel' Sequel? Yea, Right

I was reading over on SHH about the rumors that Wonder Woman might be appearing in the next Superman movie, the Man of Steel sequel, titled Batman vs. Superman.

In the piece they were talking from over on Variety, Warner Bros.’ president of creative development and worldwide production was asked about if they would start looking to introduce other DC characters in this upcoming Man of Steel movie, that would help lead up to their much beleaguered Justice League movie? (Are they not doomed, since Marvel did right before they did, or what?)

The questions included characters like Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and the Flash.

His reply was that they're trying to figure it out, then added that Wonder Woman is an amazing character, blah, blah, blah.  You know, the usual Hollywood back-patting stuff.

Seeing as how he mentioned Amazonian Princess, the questions focused in on her and if she'll be getting her own movie or inclusion into this Bats/Supes or other film?

Get ready for the buttering of the promo machine with this reply:

We are taking it all very seriously and are trying to do a plan that’s respectful to those characters and maximizes the stories as best they can, so everything that has been speculated are things that we’ve thought about.

Wait? What?  Better call Saul to define what we just saw!  But to be honest, if it's not a yes, then it sounds like a no, but with a lot of words to it.

Now-a-days, you can't trust anything these movie execs say in response to anyone's questions.

We were f*d with when the Iron Man 3 movie was heavily marketed with the Mandarin character.  We were misled with Kahn's participation in the story of Star Trek Into Darkness.

To be honest, if you look long and hard, you'll find a long string of misleading press bits of recent years for movies and TV.  But they are forced into that corner to try and keep things as a surprise.  (Unlike the massive marketing campaign for IM3 that spoiled every good surprise element of the story.)  They should stop yanking our chain, but it always sounds better to say they're considering something, as bait to keep the fans drooling and hooked for the next sound-byte that may never come.  But at least you didn't drift away, thinking there was no hope for that which you want to see.  (It's all about the marketing baby!)

My guess is that we need to take a Zen approach to this and any other question and just wait.  Time, will be the telling factor here.  As in, when we either see promos, posters or what not with whoever in the marketing, or when the movie opens!

'The Flash' to get spin-off series from CW's 'Arrow' (image via ifanboy)

Oh, by the way, CW's Arrow will have a spin-off pilot episode where they introduce the Flash, which is presumably going to head off in his own series.  Hope this one works better than the last attempt at a Flash TV series.

Also, since I only partially believe anyone these days, supposedly, we're going to see or get references to various DC heroes in this season of Arrow.

I'll see it when I believe it.  Or, um, something like that.
