Watching CW 'On Demand' Is Trying My Patience

Kristin Kreuk and Jay Ryan in Beauty and the Beast on The CW

I'm watching Beauty and the Beast on the 'On Demand' option of Comcast.  And I'm suffering emotionally.

It's bad enough I'm watching the classic "He's going to lose his humanity" pitch on the episode of Beauty and the Beast, but the ads in between segments are challenging me to change the channel.

I can't decide what's worse, the various little shows on the new CWSeed online address, the "Carol Burnett Best of" ads, or the "most anticipated DVD release in 20 years" pitch for China Beach.

The ads for the CWSeed shows are not doing any of the shows any good.  They seem EXTREMELY lame.  But that could be bad marketing.

The ads for very old content like Carol Burnett or Dean Martin just aren't hitting the mark with this consumer.  But that's just me... again.

But this ad for China Beach is driving me bonkers.  They call it the most anticipated DVD release in 20 years.  I hate to burst their bubble, but if it were more popular, it would have been out on DVD/Blu-ray a long time ago.  Or at least, that's this consumer's opinion.

Oh, on that episode of B and B, called "Man or Beast," Catherine, Vincent and gang had found that Catherine's real dad was pulling the punches behind Vincent's mysterious new mission, and the task at hand was to figure out how to bust him, Agent Reynolds.  It goes mostly well, but the episode ended with Catherine and Vincent on the outs.  Again.
