24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY

Fox has reported that they've hired Tate Donovan (Damages) to play the White House Chief of Staff in the new, upcoming 24 series with Keifer Sutherland.

"In 24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY, the stakes are higher than ever for BAUER, who is now an exile being tracked by CIA operations head STEVE HARRIS (Benjamin Bratt, “Law & Order”), agent KATE MORGAN (Yvonne Strahovski, “Dexter”), computer tech JORDAN REED (Giles Matthey, “Jobs”) and field operative ERIK RITTER (Gbenga Akinnagbe, “The Wire”). The series also stars Mary Lynn Rajskub (“Firewall”), along with newcomers Michael Wincott (“The Crow”) and Academy Award nominee and Golden Globe Award winner Judy Davis (“Life with Judy Garland”)."

ALISON SWEENEY

Not sure if you heard or not, but Alison Sweeney is leaving Days of Our Lives.  She's been on the show since 1993.

I hope she stays on as host of The Biggest Loser though!

BTW:  NBC renewed the soap to run through 2016.

AVENGERS: AGE of ULTRON

I'm seeing weird rumors.  News is that Avengers: Age of Ultron will be filming in Korea.  Other news is that Ultron will be created in Korea.

Seems confusing and odd.  I bet just because they're filming in Korea, some folks might be putting 2 and 3 together and getting six.

We'll see.

BITTEN

I was going to check out Bitten on Syfy, but when I saw the effects for the wolves, I sort of lost interest in it.

It felt like one of those budget movies you see on Saturday nights.

-

Brooklyn Nine-Nine Confuses Me

I guess it might have been proven, that theory about who you know.  I say that because despite winning a Goldon Globe for Best Comedy and Best Comedy Actor, the show is still struggling hard for in the ratings.

Wouldn't that be funny?  A two-time Golden Globe winning show getting cancelled?

-

CELEBRITY APPRENTICE

Yes, the famed reality business show hosted by Donald Trump is returning.  It's just not returning this sesaon.

Instead, it will show up once again, next season.
Word on the street is that they're casting the next lot of emotional basket cases how.

EMERALD CITY

For some reason NBC has approved a new drama series called Emerald City, and has given it a test run with a ten-episode order.

The show is a

"... reimagining of the classic Frank L. Baum books that have inspired everything from “The Wizard Of Oz” to “Wicked.”

Based on the 14-book series that first created the wonderful – and treacherous – Land of Oz, “Emerald City” is a dramatic and modern reimagining of the tales that include lethal warriors, competing kingdoms, and the Infamous wizard as we’ve never seen him before. A head-strong 20-year-old Dorothy Gale is unwittingly sent on an eye-opening journey that thrusts her into the center of an epic and bloody battle for the control of Oz

No Sex in FIFTY SHADES?

Total Film is reporting that the studio behind Fifty Shades of Grey is looking to possibly remove some or most of the sex scenes from the film to try and get the film's movie rating out of the NC-17 category.

LOL...

To be honest, isn't the film all about the bondage in the sex?  If they get a more family friendly rating, what the hell is the point?  (Well, to be honest, the studio seems to want younger movie-goers to be able to go see the movie.)\

Too funny.

What's next?  Removing all the Avengers from Avengers: Age of Ultron?

-

GAL GADOT

Word on the digital street is that Gal Gadot, who has been signed on to play Wonder Woman in the Man of Steel film, Batman vs Supeman, has signed a three movie deal contract for the role of Wonder Woman.

That means good or bad, she's committed to appearing in a few movies as the character.

JAY LENO

Jay Leno is stepping out in style... or at least with some decent guests for his last week under the Peacock.

"Jay Leno announced today that he will kick-off his last week of guests for “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” with his heir to the “Tonight Show” desk, Jimmy Fallon on Monday, Feb. 3. Leno will conclude his incredible 22-year run with a return visit from his first-ever guest, Billy Crystal, who joins Leno on his farewell night, Thursday, Feb. 6.

Leno’s final show as host will feature both Crystal and music from country superstar Garth Brooks. Crystal visited Leno on the host’s first night at the helm of “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” on May 25, 1992.

Fallon will be followed by 91-year-old TV icon Betty White, who will be making her 19th appearance.

The guest schedule for the rest of the week includes:

Tuesday, Feb. 4: Golden Globe winner and Oscar nominee Matthew McConaughey will chat with Leno and will be joined by NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley, who is making his 24th visit.

Wednesday, Feb. 5: Oscar-winning actress Sandra Bullock is set to take to the “Tonight Show” couch and will be joined by “The Voice” coach and Grammy Award-winning country singer Blake Shelton.

In addition to Brooks, the musical guests for the week include Lyle Lovett, who will appear on Tuesday, Feb. 4. Lovett is currently tied for the most appearances made by a musician. Vintage Trouble will also appear during the week.

Leno opened his first monologue as host “The Tonight Show” with a joke about Vice President Dan Quayle’s concerns about “Murphy Brown’s” title character becoming a single mother."

-

KATHERINE HEIGL

Would you look at that.  Someone is willing to drop bucks on hiring Katherine Heigl again!

Ah... I see, she is also the EP of this new show coming up on NBC... called State of Affairs.

"Heigl portrays a key CIA attaché who counsels the president on high-stakes incidents around the world. She balances her intense political responsibilities with a complicated personal life."

-

PARKS and RECREATION

At the TCA's this week, NBC said that Parks and Recreation will see a seventh season.

That must be great news for fans of the show.

SYFY: Does Bitten Already Suck At The Ratings?

Bitten and Lost Girl swap Spots

Since I haven't heard any real news from the net about Bitten, I can only assume that this time slot change has to do with getting more viewers on board the new series.

Beginning January 27th, Bitten will now be seen at 8PM while Lost Girl will now air at 10 PM.  (Isn't that where Lost Girl used to be?)

TRANSFORMERS: AGE OF EXTINCTION

Prepare thyselves true believer, as Stan Lee used to say.

We'll be getting our first taste of the newest Transformers movie during the Super Bowl, so keep your eyes peeled.

It opens late June, 2014.
