John Carter, No Sequel

As you may know, more than likely there will be no sequel to John Carter, that starred Taylor Kitsch, because the movie lost $200M at the box office.  All to no account, due to the in-fighting in the studio and the crap marketing campaign from Disney.

In an interview with Variety, Kitsch told them that the script was f*ing aweseome.

Perceptions are that if the sequel had followed the 2nd book in the Burroughs series, it would have rocked and been less cliched.  AKA, more cerebral.

Oh well.

Way back in the day I remember when the movie was coming out, the marketing sucked my left ...!  I had no inclination to want to see it.  Than a fan-made trailer took ALL the pieces of the sad bits of marketing and put it together to make an incredible home-made trailer.

THAT is what convinced me to go see the movie, and the movie was damn good.  After it flubbed, it kicked ass for a very long time on the home entertainment market.

Too bad.  In-fighting sucks.
