Comic-Con 2015 Hall Schedules, Ins and Outs, What To See Or Do

Comic-Con Hall Schedules

Considering that preview night starts tomorrow, I pulled together some thoughts and advice for visiting the 2015 San Diego Comic-Con event along with the complete listings for Hall H, Ballroom 20 and the Indigo Ballroom next to the convention center for the upcoming weekend for SDCC. It's a super quick reference cheat, but once you get there, it will probably all go out the window.

Comic-Con 2015 Hall Schedules

So you're headed to SDCC (San Diego Comic-Con), the biggest fan event there is on the planet. Or at least it feels like it. It's now one of the hardest tickets to get and even harder to get rooms for unless you're part of the in-system and booking ahead of time. Basically, tickets for the vent sell out within hours of going on sale, and that usually happens many months ahead of time.

So if you think you have things plotted out, think again.

The floor where the vendor booths are can be a sea of people. Roaming it can get you stuck in gridlock. I swear. Last year I was literally trapped between people for about five minutes in one spot.

Manu Bennet, Liam McIntyre and Bruce Simmons at Comic-Con

Keep your eyes peeled though when you are on the floor, you never know who you might see going to a booth. (Plus talent enters and exits the hall floor via some doors at the back center of the place.

If you see talent signing autographs, you will be forced to keep moving. So make sure you have a plan for taking pics while in motion.

As far as panels go, plan ahead and remember it will take a few hours to get into one or the other because of the lines. Plot accordingly.

Say you see an event in Hall-H from 11 to 12. Then there's something in Ballroom 20 From 12 to 1. You will never get in. Period. Lines for these two main attraction halls and others in between start at the wee hours of the morning. I once got in line for Hall H at 7 in the morning so I could be there for a 1pm panel.

On the bright side, once you get in the panel room you want, a few people leave after each panel ends, so you have a chance to move up through the rows and ranks, depending how many panels you're willing to put up with. That is if you're quick enough to take advantage of the dispersing crowds. But it usually isn't too many that leave, so be prepared to move a few rows at a time. And if you're planning on taking pics, you do want to be closer. Then again, Hall H holds like 7,000 people and when a thousand up and go, that does leave space.

But mark my words... "MOVE MOVE MOVE!!!" (in the tone of an army drill sergeant) the first chance you get, if that seems like a reasonable plan. One day I started in the back, and by the end of the day, by the time the panel I wanted to see started, I was in the front row.

So what are some of the bigger draws taking place this year?

This is 17 seconds of incredible. His whole routine was amazing.

Roaming the Gas Lamp district is always fun. There's people, sidewalk shows and if you're lucky, you'll see talent headed to a special appearance. One year I got swarmed by the cast of The Walking Dead. Talk about lucky.

According to Marvel, they won't have a presence at the event. It's almost believable because many distributors lose money marketing at SDCC. But I can't imagine Marvel NOT making any kind of appearance. if they really don't show, it would feel like some kind of slap in the face of fans.

Other entities like comic distributors have big plans, and if you follow through my Comic-Con tag list, you'll see some of the press releases I've re-distributed.

There's a noted spot with Joss Whedon... he gives fantastic insights to the industry and other things he knows and might be working on.
