GHOSTBUSTERS, MARRIED with CHILDREN, X-FILES Bits

Let's talk bits about Ghostbusters rumors being dashed, the hope for a Married with Children spin-off and guess who is reportedly back on set with the reboot of the X-Files?

Ghostbusters 2016

In case the rumors are confusing you...

Apparently there are multiple rumors going on about the latest reboot movie to hit theaters...  Ghostbusters.

The newest Ghostbusters film stars Leslie Jones, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon and Kristen Wiig as the new team. Yes, all chicks.

It's directed by Paul Feig (Bridesmaids, Spy, The Heat). Apparently there's some confusion that the all-guy team might be coming back or something like that. (BTW, in Feig I have faith.)

Towing the proper line, producer Ivan Reitman released the following statement:

“There has been a lot of excitement recently about what is happening with the Ghostbusters franchise. As the producer of the new Ghostbusters film, I feel the need to clarify. There is only one new Ghostbusters movie and that is the Paul Feig directed version coming next July, presently filming and going fantastically. The rest is just noise,”

Now keep in mind that he did not say it is not true, either this or whatever other rumors are floating. So stay tuned.

Right?

Ghostbusters (2016) is due out during July of 2016.

Married with Children may be making a comeback!

David Faustino, who played Bud in the original sitcom, Married with Children, is developing a spinoff of the old series.

He's got all but Christina Applegate lined up for bit appearances in the spinoff.

For the moment, while they're working out legal details with Sony, the rest is mum, but hey, who knows. Where do you think "Bud" might have taken the new story? Did he follow the life of Bud maybe?

THE X-FILES Reboot Update

As we all know, (I would hope), Fox is resurrecting The X-Files, with David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson reprising their roles. But now we're hearing that those pesky Lone Gunmen are also going to be back in action in the reboot from Fox.

jI know, I know, they were filled off way back, but according to sources they were on set filming, starting July 28th. That's two days ago folks.

So we either have, "their deaths were wrongly reported," it's a flash back of sorts, or???

From what I can tell, they're fairly on track with getting the whole gang back together for this reprisal, and that's a pretty cool thing to ponder.

The press or attention the press is getting is pretty good, so fan reception is being gauged as pretty decent, which means Fox does not have to worry too much about the reboot.

But will fans stick with it throughout the season, or pile on for the first few episodes then fade away during the season, like they usually do?

We'll see.
