XENA Warrior Princess Reboot In the Making?

Lucy Lawless as the 1995 version of Xena, The Warrior Princess

When I was, um, younger, I used to watch Hercules: The Legendary Journeys with Kevin Sorbo, and after that, Xena: Warrior Princess, with Lucy Lawless. Admittedly, these two shows had my attention and probably helped the actors jump start their careers into genre casting.

Then recently I guess Lawless said something about reprising her role of Xena, which got the world agog, but she had to correct the masses tweeting “Sorry, friends! news of a “Xena” reboot is just a rumor. I’d love it to happen one day but it’s still in the wishful thinking stage.” I wonder if that was just an accidental "jumping of the gun?"

It turns out, per THR, that NBC is looking to reboot the title, with the original producers from the 1995 series (that ran six years), Rob Tapert and Sam Raimi.

These two have put out some great content during their run on the Spartacus TV series. It is just possible that they could pull this off. IF they don't include that stupid battle cry this time around.

Just saying.

Lucy Lawless went on to be in several shows afterward like Syfy's Battlestar Galactica and more recently in STARZ Spartacus series, then Parks and Recreation, The Code, Agents of SHIELD and Salem.

This could be good. I can hope, right?
