X-FILES Returns This Sunday, 1-24-16 (Ep Titles and Behind The Scenes Tidbits)

The X-Files

I'm not sure I need much more than the title of this piece, but since Google would slap my hand for a thin post, I guess I should start adding some kind of relevant content about the premiere of the return of The X-Files to TV on Fox. (If you like the above pic, there's MORE on Cinema Static's FB album page.)

The tagline for the continuing saga of our intrepid FBI agents is,

"The truth is still out there."

The cast includes

David Duchovny as Fox Mulder,,
Gillian Anderson as Dana Scully,
Mitch Pileggi as Walter Skinner,
William B. Davis as the Smoking Man,
Robbie Amell as Agent Miller,
Joel McHale as Tad O'Malley and
Andrew Morgado    as Charlie Scully.

There's also  Lauren Ambrose who plays Agent Einstein. Please tell me there's a joke in there somewhere?

Fan favorite Ryan Robbins (Arrow, Continuum, Falling Skies, The Killing, Sanctuary) will also be in one episode.

I just noticed in the cast listing we'll also catch Tom Braidwood in an episode or so. Hello, that's  Melvin Frohike, one of the "Lone Gunmen!" (Tidbit: Did you know that when he wasn't playing one of the Lone Gunmen, he was acting as the first assistant director on the set of the original X-Files?)

Preview words on the upcoming SHORT six-ep event:

-So we'll be seeing "The Lone Gunmen."

-The sexual tension between Mulder and Scully will be back because they are no longer together.

-Mutants.

-The alien colonization/conspiracy story line will be dealt with in the first and last episode of this short, six-episode season. (Check out the episode titles)

-With The Smoking Man back in the show, some are wondering how his appearance will be handled? Didn't he die of cancer? Or smite by a missle? Or what? We'll see.

-Supposedly there will be story lines left open for resolution. This, banking on good ratings for this revival.

As far as episode titles go, they are,

S1, Ep1
24 Jan. 2016
My Struggle

S1, Ep2
25 Jan. 2016
Founder's Mutation

S1, Ep3
1 Feb. 2016
Mulder & Scully Meet the Were-Monster
(Rumors have it this will be in the tradition of some of their better, light-hearted episodes. I mean come on, our agents will be meeting a dirt-bag, a metro-sexual, a lesbian, a sexy red-head and a Great Dane. There's something in the description about meddling teenagers and their dog.  You do the math. LOL.)

S1, Ep4
8 Feb. 2016
Home Again
(Some of the earliest rumors about this revival/continuation of The X-Files is that this episode will address the current status of our favorite inbred family, the Peacocks!)

S1, Ep5
15 Feb. 2016
Babylon

S1, Ep6
22 Feb. 2016
My Struggle II

Oh, and who the hell is Charlie Scully? The man playing him is a career foley mixer and ADR for shows like Orange is the New Black, NCIS LA, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Graceland, Mr. Robot, New Girl, Hell on Wheels, Fargo, Burn Notice, The Kiling, Weeds... well, you get the idea. He's worked on all of our favorite shows.

When he has acted, he's been doing voice/narrator work and some of his earlier credits start around 2002.

At first I thought it was going to be a young actor playing a potential kid, but upon further research, the character turns out to be Dana's younger brother.

Meh... I thought I was on to something.

Any way, let's help this new X-Files be a hit. TELL EVERYONE to turn on their TVs. Even if they don't watch it... just to pump up those numbers! LOL, or let's hope there is enough interest to generate the idea of more episodes down the road.

Other tidbits to ponder is that Agents Einstein and Mills (or Miller) were original set up for a spinoff, picking up the torch from Mulder and Dana.

Either way, it could all be good if it's X-Files.

(There, I guess that filled out an online piece...)
