THE WALKING DEAD - Who Was John Bernecker

At the end of the eigtht season premiere of The Walking Dead, there were two dedications... one to the late George Romero and the other to John Bernecker.

John Bernecker was s stuntman on the show and during what has been referred to as a routine stunt that included a fight scene and a fall from a balcony, but something went amiss and he fell thirty feet to a concrete flooring.

The injuries from that fall led to his subsequent passing. Sadly, he was only 33.

This took place back in July.

John's resume included stunt work on Black Panther, Logan, Get Out, The Fate of the Furious and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2. He had around 90 credits to his name on IMDb, including nine more projects that have yet to be released.

After his passing his family donated his organs to LifeLink of Georgia, a nonprofit group dedicated to the recovery of organs and tissue for transplantation.

This was being referred to as the stunt-related death in the industry in over 17 years.

Our regards to John's family, friends and peers.
