TV News 1-5-19: Dish, SHIELD,

So far, AT&T is holding fast with having pulled HBO from DISH and Sling TV during their carrier fee negotiations. HBO pulled their content from DISH on November 1st and I'm not missing it. Industry experts seem to be thinking that AT&T is holding out HBO for their own Netflix-like streaming service that they may be starting up this year.  We'll see.

The CW will be premiering "Roswell, New Mexico," on Tuesday, January 15th.

USA Network is launching a reboot, I mean a new version of the former Fox series, "Temptation Island."  It premieres (again) on January 15th.

NBC is working on a TV series based on "The Bone Collector" book/film franchise. There was the one film (1999) and 11 books in the series.

CBS is working on rebooting "Northern Exposure."

RENEWED

ABC renewed "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" for a seventh season. (That confuses me... I thought we'd seen the last of that show!)

Netflix renewed the animated series "Big Mouth" for a third season.

Disney Channel renewed "Bunk'd."

Amazon has renewed "Bosch" for a sixth season.

USA Renewed "The Purge" for a second season.

"Wheel of Fortune" and "Jeopardy!" have both been renewed for three more years, taking then through the 2022-23 TV season.

GIVEN THE BOOT

TNT canceled "Good Behavior" After only two seasons.

"Salvation" was cancelled by CBS.

ABC Canceled "Take Two."

It looks like ABC is no longer pursuing a "The Middle" reboot.
