THE LAYOVER WITH ANTHONY BOURDAIN

SEASON PREMIERE: Monday, November 19 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT

Anthony Bourdain takes on Chicago, the city he deems to be "the only other true American Metropolis."  This layover is all about cruising around the diverse neighborhoods that make up this great city in a rented old-school Cadillac.  For a bit of off-beat culture, Bourdain checks out the International Museum of Surgical Science.  He drinks in dive bars galore, samples hot dogs, Polish sausages and Italian beef sandwiches (he prefers them hot, sweet and wet), and conducts an informal poll on whether native Chicagoans really eat deep-dish pizza.

Series Synopsis:  Anthony Bourdain is a seasoned traveler who's hit up all corners of the globe many times over. More often than not, while passing through, he has time to kill in some of the world's biggest hubs. So instead of sitting at the airport hotel, he sets out to explore each city in the short amount of time he has there. Season two of "The Layover with Anthony Bourdain" is a caffeinated, high-test, quick drill, No Reservations. The visually arresting style conveys grit, energy and urgency. Constantly on the move, and only in town for a mere number of hours, Bourdain, and friends he connects with along the way, unleash an unpredictable story about a place, a people and their food.

DANGEROUS GROUNDS

NEW EPISODE: Tuesday, November 20 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT

Todd Carmichael travels to Madagascar where 200 miles and 165 million years of evolution separate this large island from mainland Africa resulting in some of the most unique plants and animals on the planet. It's also rumored to be a source of high-quality "Robusta," a utility-grade strain of coffee largely avoided by coffee aficionados. Carmichael believes the exception to that rule could be hidden somewhere in Madagascar if he can navigate the country's challenging terrain. Impassable roads and an ancient rickety train can only take Carmichael so far. He must then trek by foot through heavy rainforest, bat-infested tunnels and into isolated villages, where he hopes he'll find the rare and delicious treasure he is seeking.

Series Synopsis:  Coffee magnate and adventurer Todd Carmichael hunts down rare strains of coffee in some of the most fascinating and unseen places in the world.  His business depends on sourcing coffee so extraordinary, it's sought after by the world's top chefs.  Whether he's sleeping under his truck to avoid being detected by notorious criminals or using makeshift repairs to fix a broken engine, Carmichael risks it all tracking his way from villages to mountain enclaves where the best coffee fruit hides.  Travel is his life, and coffee fuels his passion for adventure.  And buying directly from the growers means Carmichael must encounter danger and opposition from entrenched middlemen. There's an amazing story behind every cup!

BAGGAGE BATTLES

Every year in Atlanta, over half a billion trucks carry approximately 400-million tons of freight through this major southern city.  Items that are lost, damaged or undeliverable end up at Fr8Auctions.  The three teams of "Baggage Battles" auction specialists (Billy Leroy, Mark Meyer and married couple Laurence and Sally Martin) head to Atlanta to compete for the prized cargo.  As the auction gets underway, the bidding heats up with the Martins bidding against Meyer on aircraft parts manufactured by Rolls-Royce.  Then Meyer bids against Leroy for the first palate of personal effects.  The second palate of personal effects includes a well-constructed wooden crate, and all three teams of auction specialists believe this box contains something valuable.  Not only do Meyer, Leroy, and the Martins start a bidding war, but the locals get in on the action for this one.  In the end, one of the auction experts go home with a profit of over $20,000!

Series Synopsis:  "Baggage Battles" provides a glimpse into the very profitable business of bidding, buying and reselling unclaimed property by following three teams of auction experts who travel to some of the most important auctions, where their bids are based on sight-unseen instincts.  Season two of "Baggage Battles" brings back the savvy auction experts viewers met in the first season:  Laurence and Sally Martin, a married couple who co-own Studio Antiques in El Segundo, California; Mark Meyer, a young entrepreneur in the auctioning business from Long Island, New York; and New York City's Billy Leroy, owner of the iconic Billy's Antiques and Props, one of the last eclectic props and antique stores.  These shrewd experts trust their keen eye for detail to find hidden treasures at the top auctions around the world including airport auctions, unclaimed freight and shipping auctions, police and seizure auctions, vehicular auctions and estate auctions.

NEW EPISODE: Thursday, November 22 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT

Don Wildman first travels to Las Vegas' Clark County Heritage Museum to examine a simple poker chip that was salvaged from one of Sin City's most opulent hotels.  This piece of plastic played a huge conflagration that bore witness to one of the city's greatest atrocities.  Then, Wildman heads to the Marshall County History Museum in Warren, Minnesota that houses a damaged 1970's police cruiser with a past, that some claim is "out of this world."  Wildman then goes to the Confederate Relic Room in Columbia, South Carolina to learn the story behind a battered sword that was carried by a Civil War general.

Series Synopsis:  "Mysteries at the Museum" spans the country, exploring local archives, storefront collections and the hallowed halls of stately institutions, to uncover the objects and artifacts that reveal the nation's hidden secrets.  Museum explorer and history enthusiast Don Wildman scours a range of museums in search of extraordinary relics at the heart of tales that shock and amaze.  From Springfield, Illinois' Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, where a rusted metal chisel was once wielded in a daring plot to steal the remains of the beloved 16th President, to the Connecticut Air and Space Museum, where a replica of a primitive plane may rewrite the history of aviation, these are a few of the sites that celebrate our nation's distinguished past.  Through gripping interviews, rich archival footage and arresting reenactments, "Mysteries at the Museum" brings to life the amazing artifacts from the center of the nation's most notorious crimes and scandals, unexplained encounters, bizarre inventions, and the most enthralling events of all time.
