Movie Trivia: Did You Know 'The Lone Ranger' is related to 'The Green Hornet?'

This is a bit of Movie Static Trivia on how The Lone Ranger and The Green Hornet are related to each other.  I know, I know.  You're probably thinking I'm daft!  But check it out before committing me!

I am finding it pretty damn interesting how fan movie sites are talking about teams of heroes, and they end up comparing The Lone Ranger and The Green Hornet more often than not.

Every time I see that comparison, I think, "Oh!  They figured it out!"  But instead, it's just a comparison of Tonto and Kato.

But has anyone taken a gander at the names of these two vigilante heroes?

John Reid is the Lone Ranger. (He originally did not have a name, but later on, he did.)  The Green Hornet is Britt Reid.  Hmm.  Coincidence?

Way back in the day, The Lone Ranger radio series was the inspiration for a spin-off, The Green Hornet.

In radio/TV legend, the Ranger had a nephew named Dan.  Dan had a son named Brit Reid.  And if you know your genre stuff, then you know that Brit Reid went on as an adult to start up his own tale of vengeance as The Green Hornet.

That's it...  that wasn't too complicated.

In the old Green Hornet TV show you might catch paintings or posters in the background of Brit Reid's living room with The Lone Ranger in them, paying homage to the source.

There, now you know why you have to come by Movie Static more often than not!
