'Revolution:' Do We Not Care Any More?

After looking at the Nielsen ratings for the second season premiere of NBC's Revolution, I have to start wondering if anyone cares any more?  The ratings seem to suggest that viewers have lost hope for this series.

revolution premiere had low ratings

Last year Revolution opened to some serious fanfare from NBC.  It was "the most watched series premiere" in the history of all human kind.  Or, they tried to make it sound that way.

First they pumped it up, adding all the preview online viewings (It was online a week or more before it premiered on TV) to the premiere numbers.

Then they started saying it was the best new show on television.  Despite the fact that the show never cracked the top-25 rated shows each week.

It turned out it WAS the best new show, on Mondays.  I did a quickie review and every other new series last year was crushing Revolution.

Except, there were no shows on, Monday night.

And then last year, NBC cut the episode order count by 2.  That was a big clue something was up then.

And now, they've moved the show to a literal death slot on Wednesdays... up against reality TV Survivor, it will be up against CW's Arrow, and The Middle?  Cripes, you might as well as have put it on Friday nights...  on Syfy... oh wait, never mind.  They've got their sci-fi wrestling shows.

With all that noise being said, the second season of Revolution started off with a whimper of a ratings bang.  Or poof.

It only pulled a 1.8 in the 18-29 demo, with just under 7 million estimated viewers.  Or, to be more succinct, it tied it's lowest rated episode with the premiere.

I wonder how long the show is slated to stay on the air?  At this rate, it might eek out a full season.  Might.

But if the ratings are like this throughout, and some cast don't get her... I mean their acting-sh** together, I'm thinking the next season finale will be its series finale.

If it makes it that far.
