'Riddick' Leads New Movies in Theaters This Week

Well, to be honest, Riddick, starring Vin Diesel seems to be the only biog title coming out in movie theaters this week.

There are other, smaller or limited releases, but Riddick is the one to beat this week.

And will Riddick take the box office battle this upcoming weekend?

Depending on when or who you read, The Butler and One Direction were battling it out for first for last weekend.  But bottom line, The Butler eeked out One Direction with a $20M weekend over an $18M take for the boy band movie.

We're the Millers ($16M) held on to third, Planes ($10.8M) mustered fourth and the new movie, Instructions Not Included ($10.4M) snagged fifth last weekend.

The other new movies, Getaway (10th with $5.6M) and Closed Circuit (16th with $3.1M) seemed to have spiraled down a monetary drain, destined to a quick DVD release schedule I'm sure.

Ouch.
