It is Official, No One Gives A Sheet About Card's Beliefs

Summit Entertainment did it!  They successfully distanced Ender's Game from the reputation of Orson Scott Card and the movie dominated the box office this weekend.

Per estimates, Ender's Game, starring Asa Butterfield and Harrison Ford, pulled in $28M this weekend, while dominating the next closest competitor, Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa, with Johnny Knoxville, pulled in just over $20M.

Other movies making headway at the box office included Last Vegas, starring Michael Douglas, Robert De Niro, Morgan Freeman, and Kevin Kline, pulled in an estimated $16M.

The animated feature, Free Birds, with the voice of Owen Wilson and Woody Harrelson, snagged just over $16M on its opening weekend, while Gravity is still holding strong at the no. five spot, having pulled in an estimated $13M.

Behind these films, Captain Phillips (8.5M), 12 Years a Slave (4.6M), Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 (4.2M), Carrie (3.4M) and The Counselor (3.3M) round out the top-ten movies.

Yes, I've heard that The Counselor wasn't that good, and the box office numbers seem to support that.
