FAST and FURIOUS 7: Paul Walker's Character

How They'll finish Paul Walker's Character in FF7?

In a sad but necessary piece of news, whether you know it or not, Paul Walker (RIP) had only completed about half his role in Fast And Furious 7 at the time of his untimely passing.

Universal, at the time, wasn't sure what they will be doing to finish the film, if they were going to scrap the project or do something to be able to complete the project.

Word on the street, or MovieHole saw a report from NY Daily News, is that Universal is going to use a combination of body doubles and CGI to finish the film and telling the story of Walker's character, Brian O'Conner.

It won't quite be the same, that's for sure.

We know this will be the last time we see Brian in the film franchise and we know why.  I am concerned how distracted I'll be, knowing the truth behind the movie, or if I'll see it as a final homage the man who brought the character, Brian, to life.

As you may know, Walker passed away on Nov 30, 2013, in an untimely fashion when a car his friend was driving crashed, killing both occupants in the car.

Off the top of my head, this isn't the first time CGI has been used to help finish a movie, nor the last.

When Philip Seymour Hoffman passed, he had one major scene left to film, to complete his work in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay—Part 2.  The suspicion is that the studio behind The Hunger Games will be using CGI to finish his role.

When Brandon Lee passed away from his on-set accidental death on The Crow, Miramax used CGI to put his face on a body double.

When Heath Ledger passed from a sad combination of events using medications, he was in the middle of filming The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus.  They decided to do a small rewrite of the script that would make his character able to change his looks and had Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell and Jude Law step into the role.
