Some Entertainment News For the Week - Rim, SoA, Saul, etc..

Entertainment News about Pacific Rim 2, Sons of Anarchy, Better Call Saul, Hulk, and the CW TV premiere dates for the 2014 TV season.

Here's some news about Pacific Rim 2, Sons of Anarchy, Better Call Saul, Hulk, and the CW TV premiere dates for the 2014 TV season.

Director/filmmaker Guillermo Del Toro has been noted in a Wall Street Journal to be saying that PR2 will be much different than the first 1.

"We are three years away, so to spoil anything would be fantastically silly of me. What I can tell you: [screenwriter Zak Penn] and I really went in, we started with [screenwriter Travis Beacham] about a year and a half ago, kicking ideas back and forth. And, admittedly, I said to Zak, let’s keep kicking ideas till we find one that really, really turns the first movie on its ear, so to speak. (…) It was hard to create a world that did not come from a comic book, that had its own mythology, so we had to sacrifice many aspects to be able to cram everything in the first movie. Namely, for example “the Drift” (editor’s note: the neural link between pilots of the giant robots, or jaegers), which was an interesting concept. [Then there was] this portal that ripped a hole into the fabric of our universe, what were the tools they were using? And we came up with a really, really interesting idea. I don’t want to spoil it, but I think at the end of the second movie, people will find out that the two movies stand on their own. They’re very different from each other, although hopefully bringing the same joyful giant spectacle. But the tenor of the two movies will be quite different."

Kurt Sutter is saying that the upcoming (and last) season of SoA is going to make Game of Thrones red wedding look like "bed wetting."

He says that the final season will be dark, but the real darkness will kick in around the fourth episode.

We're also going to be seeing more of Walton Goggins as Venus Van Dam.

Word on the street now, is that the spin-off from Breaking Bad, called Better Call Saul, will be taking place before, during and after events that occured on Breaking Bad.

I find it interesting that after the premiere has been delayed a season, and showrunner Gilligan showing public concern for the series, that the show is now less prequel and more parrallel to what was happening in Breaking Bad.

Avengers HULK Character

There's been a small flurry of activity about the Hulk character in The Avengers movies of late.

Since his popular appearance in The Avengers, fans want more.  But more may not work out that well for the character.  As it has stood for so long, Marvel's Kevin Feige has said we won't be seeing a solo film for the character.

Much of Hulk's popularity came from Bruce Banner's interactions with the crew and bad guys.  Many are not sure yet another solo film could stand the test of the movie goers wallet.

But then in the same week, rumors have been floating around saying that

at the end of The Avengers 2, Ultron shoots Hulk off into space, which could lead up to his solo movie.

Then again, how many times have fans been promised or not promised about events with characters?
