Host Alison Sweeney Leaves NBC's THE BIGGEST LOSER

Alison Sweeney leaves The Biggest Loser

In what seems like a shocking turn of events, NBC released a statement today from producers saying that Alison Sweeney will not be returning to host the next installment of The Biggest Loser.

She's been an icon of the series for fans for eight years and now she will not be there to host the contests and challenges that our health-minded contestants will be facing.

Bummer. I'm sure as time wears on, we'll learn more about the details.

The show has had a few changes over the years, primarily in the coaching staff.

Bob has been the anchor of the series while Jillian has come and gone. Our recent spate of coaches includes Bob Harper, Dolvett Quince, with the latest additions of Jessie Pavelka and Jennifer Widerstrom. At least that was the lineup last season.

I have to wonder if there isn't something going on in the background we aren't privy to. When a show does well, usually folks only leave after some "creative differences" spark up.

Well, either way, now they need a new host. I hope they pick well, considering the voice of the show tends to be the leaders who help guide our contestants through the season.

Speaking of which, for season 17, they're looking for pairs of contestants for the series and they are casting now.  >> { the biggest loser casting )
