Entertainment news about SENSE8, HUMANS, GRIMM, RED on TV, X-FILES, NARUTO movie

Below we have some renewal news, a tiny casting news bit for Grimm, a potential movie-TV-series premise, a reboot bit and what I believe will be great news (hopefully) for Naruto fans.

-

- Sense8 was renewed for a second season by Netflix

- Humans was renewed for a second season by AMC. (It's a production partnership with Channel 4 in the U.K.)

(Based on a Swedish series called Real Humans, AMC/Channel 4’s Humans takes place in a not-too-distant future London in which anthropomorphic automatons, or “synths,” have not only become the app of all apps, but are used as servants designed to mindlessly carry through mundane household chores. Though the show features a relatively large ensemble cast that includes the veteran film actor William Hurt, the plot mostly centers around a sketchy synth named “Anita” (Gemma Chang), whose sporadic instances of emotion-fueled acts vexes her new owners in the Hawkins family. However, it turns out that Anita is far from factory-fresh and her issues stem back to a rather fascinating, cognizant past that’s connected to a warrant-evading programmer, Leo Elster (Colin Morgan).)

Psst: I just started watching the first season and the first few episodes definitely have my imagination and curiosity sparked. More on this later when I finish the season.

Carlson Young has been cast for a part in Grimm.

RED: Remember the RED movies with Bruce Willis? NBC is toying with the idea of making it a TV series, which will be penned by the same guys who wrote the movies.

It looks like the new X-Files will be much like the old version, where episodes are peppered with stand-alone events and series mythology.

A Nightmare on Elm Street had a reboot attempt about five years ago. But for some reason, a serious number of people are having writer's block and New Line Cinema will be rebooting the film franchise. Again.

Lionsgate has found its director for their Naruto movie. Yes, a Naruto movie is being made. BUT... It is an untested director (Michael Gracey) and it is being produced by Avi Arad.

Speaking of anime, don't forget that Ghost in the Shell, starring Scarlett Johansson is due out in 2017. Additionally someone is working an Death Note.
