EXECUTIONER Cancelled, Bay What?, CALL SAUL, THE SOUP, Banks, Fogle News And a Bit More

REMINDER: 'Jessica Jones' premieres on Netflix today, November 20th, 2015!

-

'The Bastard Executioner' has been cancelled by FX. That is good and bad news. This was the latest project from Kurt Sutter and I thought it was interesting that he jumped on the medieval time period bandwagon. So it's bad news the show is cancelled (if you liked it) but now it is good news for those of us waiting for that 'Sons of Anarchy' spinoff focused on 'The Mayans.'

To be honest Sutter has a great track record with modern-day darkness. It is something he translates into a relatable story for the audience. I guess we did not have the appetite for SOA with swords.

As Sutter put it, "The audience has spoken and unfortunately the word is "meh."" In another statement he said that no matter the content or passion, the bottom line is the numbers. Meaning TV ratings.

Hey, at least FX had the faith in him to let him run with 'The Bastard Executioner.'

Alexandra Daddario just joined Zac Efron and Dwayne Johnson in... wait for it... wait...  yes, a movie version of 'Baywatch.' Well, Dwayne Johnson running around in shorts for two hours will probably make some demographic pretty happy.

-

'Better Call Saul' will be returning for the second season premiere on February 15th, 2016.

-

Jared Fogle was sentenced to 15 years in prison. I hope they don't segregate him from the general population. The convicts of America don't like freaks like Fogle. It should be a good experience for Fogle. LOL.

I haven't actually tried to cover this, but there is a new 'Pride and Prejudice' title coming out in February of 2016. And it is shamelessly pinging off the zombie craze, thinking they can pull of a 'Walking Dead' kind of quality.

It's called 'Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.' Yes... that's the title.

"Pride And Prejudice And Zombies is an adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith's period horror parody, and you can see the five Bennet sisters - Lydia (Ellie Bamber), Jane (Bella Heathcote), Elizabeth (Lily James), Mary (Millie Brady), and Kitty (Sukie Waterhouse) - in action on February 5, 2016."

Sam Riley also stars.

-

'The Soup' has been cancelled. The final show will air on December 18th, 2015, bringing to close its 22-season run.

-

Tyra Banks just quit her own TV series, 'FabLife.' The official reason is to focus on her cosmetics business.

Which now adds to her Diva existence on TV, since her other show on The CW was also cancelled. Man, that must suck to get cancelled on a network whose minimum ratings requirements are near dead numbers!
