Paul Bettany To Play The Vision in THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON

Today the news is out that Paul Bettany will be playing The Vision in the next Avengers movie, The Avengers: Age of Ultron.  Which is fascinating.

IF you know your Marvel movies, you know that Paul Bettany has been playing the mildly snarky voice of the on-board Iron Man computer, JARVIS.

But...

UNFOUNDED rumors that were floating around say that Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) might be the one responsible for creating the bad guy of the movie, Ultron, after tinkering too much with his own armor.  And then others were making guesses that Ultron might be a mutated or evil version of JARVIS.

But (#2)...

Bettany is playing The Vision while Blacklist star James Spader will be playing Ultron.  And Spader, playing Ultron, creates a spine tingling anticipation from this site.  Spader can ooze dripping evil in a smooth, cocky kind of way.

So that's good.

And having The Vision on board the cast of characters is starting to round out the classic core of Avengers from the comics. (For me)

But (#3?) in one take on the character of Vision, Ultron builds him to battle The Avengers.

This begs another question and that is, will Bettany be doing "double duty" as JARVIS and The Vision?  Or will Tony Stark have a new armor that does not have any internal self-banter in the armor in the form of the on board computer?

It would be weird to see Tony Stark in the armor without JARVIS, but hey, this suggests all kinds of possibilities for The Avengers: Age of Ultron.

And as any long-time Marvel fan knows, they are tinkering here and there with character origins.  For example, in the comics, Ultron is created by Hank Pym.  But in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the Ant-Man movie is taking place after The Avengers second movie, so Ultron's origin will be getting changed up a bit for the movie universe.  Or at least, it seems that way.

All this conjecture is pretty exciting to contemplate, as websites across the world talk about this entertainment news bit.  And all the free publicity is priceless to the studios!  But hey, we all have perspectives and opinions!
