'Primeval' Spinoff, 'Primeval: New World' TV News

If all five of you have been paying attention, I've done the Doctor Who-like practice of weaving clues and hints in articles about other shows.  In this case, I've apparently been very subtle about the new Primeval based series, called Primeval: New World.

In one article back in February where I was talking about
Syfy's Sanctuary probably being cancelled, I made note that Martin Wood is executive producing a new Primeval series.  And though I can't seem to find it, I thought for sure I had written something else about it... (Maybe it was one of those infamous RT's or FB reposts I do when I'm too busy) but alas, never mind, moving on...

There's a new spinoff from the popular time-twisted dinosaur series
Primeval, called Primeval: New World.  Oh, wait... I might have covered that already... the series has already started shooting it's first 13-episode season already.

Casting includes Miranda Frigon, Geoff Gustafson and Danny Rahim with an occasional guest star of the popular
Andrew-Lee Potts from the original Primeval series on ITV.

Other cast includes Niall Matter (Eureka) and Sara Canning (The Vampire Diaries) and Amanda Tapping will be directing some episodes.

The series will be premiering in the U.K. and Canada but there's no news yet on any U.S. distributor.  Maybe Syfy (Comcast) will wait to make sure it's popular enough to drop money on it.

Apparently the show will be taking place in the  same world as the original, using some of the character and story lines from it.  Personally, I'd love to see this product.  I liked the original series and would be curious what they would do with this spinoff!
