Renewals and premiere news for Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, How to Get Away with Murder, The Bachelor, American Idol, America's Got Talent, Channel Zero, Lucifer, Superstore, The OA and Top Gear.

ABC renewed Grey’s Anatomy (for a 14th season), Scandal (7th season) and How to Get Away with Murder (4th).

Not sure if you heard but ABC pulled a chicken-shit move by announcing who the next Bachelorette is, before the home dates on The Bachelor even aired. Giving away a huge spoiler. So huge that I'm not even going to mention it... if you want to know, go look it up.

NBC is looking into reviving American Idol on its network. We'll see how that goes.

Nick Cannon is leaving America's Got Talent because he caught wind that he might be getting fired because of a racial joke he made about NBC while on another show/network. Duh.

Collide Trailer With Nicholas Hoult, Anthony Hopkins & Ben Kingsley

When I first saw the title of this film, it never came up on my radar so I did not pay much attention to it, but then I received a press release saying watch Nicholas Hoult...  I never finished the sentence as I pounced on the link to the trailer. And to be honest, wow, what a cast, as far as I am concerned.

Collide opens in Theaters on February 24

After a heist goes terribly wrong, Casey Stein (Nicholas Hoult) finds himself on the run from a ruthless gang headed by mob boss Hagen (Anthony Hopkins). Now Casey has precious cargo that belongs to Hagen, who will stop at nothing to retrieve it. Left with no choice, Casey calls his former employer and drug smuggler Geran (Ben Kingsley) to protect his long-time girlfriend Juliette before Hagen gets his hands on her. Casey sets out on an adrenaline-fueled car chase on the German highways to save the love of his life before it’s too late.

This is yet one more role demonstrating the depth of Hoult's ability to portray a character to the camera for his fans. He's previously portrayed Beast in the X-Men franchise, he was the nutty young kid in the Mad Max Fury Road film, and played R in the funny zombie love story of Warm Bodies. He currently has three films in post-production:  Watership Down (Fiver), The Current War (as Nikola Tesla) and Sand Castle.

The Walking Dead, Who Was James Heltibridle

In the mid-season premiere of The Walking Dead, the episode ended with a memorial, "In loving memory of James Heltibridle."

Who was James Heltribridle?

James Heltibridle was a filmmaker who died in late 2016. He was a production designer on a few short films and was working in the props department of The Walking Dead when he passed away unexpectedly.

He died in a traffic accident one day on his way home from the set.

Our condolences to his family, friends and peers.

Transformers: The Last Knight Extended Big Game Spot

If you saw the 'big game,' you probably saw the Transformers The Last Knight TV spot. And if you didn't, well, check it out, the extended version.

"The Last Knight shatters the core myths of the Transformers franchise, and redefines what it means to be a hero. Humans and Transformers are at war, Optimus Prime is gone. The key to saving our future lies buried in the secrets of the past, in the hidden history of Transformers on Earth. Saving our world falls upon the shoulders of an unlikely alliance: Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg); Bumblebee; an English Lord (Sir Anthony Hopkins); and an Oxford Professor (Laura Haddock).

There comes a moment in everyone’s life when we are called upon to make a difference. In Transformers: The Last Knight, the hunted will become heroes. Heroes will become villains. Only one world will survive: theirs, or ours."

Alien Covenant from Ridley Scott, is opening in theaters on May 19th.  My first impression is that after looking at this trailer, they may be getting back more on track with the franchise. Maybe. Then again, they had a great chance to do that with Prometheus and they sort of got side-tracked with angry aliens, idiot scientists and greedy cyborgs!

Headed toward a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew members of the colony ship Covenant discover what they believe to be an uncharted paradise, but it is actually a dark, menacing world in which the only inhabitant is the synthetic David (Michael Fassbender), a survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.

Cast: Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Noomi Rapace, James Franco, Demián Bichir, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride, Jussie Smollett. Directed by Ridley Scott.

IRON FIST Trailer For March Netflix Premiere

Iron Fist is another Marvel product being brought from the pages of the company to the gritty feeling world that the Marvel/Netflix production houses have been creating. The feel of the shows on Netflix is real. It's dirty, it takes place in the alleys and back streets, there's no accolades for our heroes, just blood, broken bodies and small personal challenges in their own worlds. But these worlds are not without reference to the bigger Marvel universe either, nor do they ignore their other street-wise brethren.

Here's the press description of the Netflix title, Iron Fist:

Fifteen years after being presumed dead in a plane crash, Danny Rand (Finn Jones) mysteriously returns to New York City determined to reclaim his birthright and family company. However, when a long-destined enemy rises in New York, this living weapon is forced to choose between his family’s legacy and his duties as the Iron Fist. Marvel's Iron Fist premieres March 17, 2017 exclusively on Netflix.

New SHARKNADO Movie News, JOHN WICK Trilogy And TV Show?

For those of you who can't get enough tongue-in-cheek action from Syfy's Sharknado franchise, well, Syfy and The Asylum are pulling hard to milk as much fun and funds as they can out of the premise.

Syfy sent out a press release announcing that Sharknado 5 is on its way, with filming already having begun.

Ian Ziering and bionic Tara Reid will be reprising their roles.

But this time around, the movie will be filmed in foreign countries, to support the new story line:

"With much of North America lying in ruins, the rest of the world braces for the inevitable — a global sharknado. Fin Shepard (Ziering) and his family must put a stop to this disaster before Earth is completely obliterated."

No premiere date has been given, but industry experts are suggesting a July premiere date, since the last four aired during that month in previous years.

John Wick: Chapter 2 is coming to theaters on February 10th. The director, Chad Stahelski is already looking at a third John Wick film, plus, the idea of a prequel is rattling around in everyone's head. And in such a way, that Lionsgate is considering making a TV show based around the prequel story to Wick.

Depending on the sequel, I think I'm down for this gun-porn franchise pumping out a trilogy of Wick films.

A TV show... maybe.  We'll see.

Right now Training Day is premiering (tonight), which is based on the original film. So we'll see how things work there. It's not undoable. Heck, the floundering Divergent film series is headed to TV with their final film. Or so they hinted at in previous months.

We'll see.
