STAR WARS REBELS Final Season Teaser, SYFY Summer Premiere Dates Plus More

Better Call Saul has now had a few episodes telecast in their new season and I had almost forgotten about the magic of their photography as they film certain scenes. But along with the good comes the mediocre. Over the last few episodes, we've had a developing story line with Mike that seems to be nothing but a massive amount of time filler. I mean seriously, we spend almost 30 minutes on a scene that could have taken 10 or more, and the producers did this twice. Sure, I can only surmise that this was designed with the buildup in mind, but it took too freaking long people. Come on, it's filler. Let's get on with the season, shall we?

Criminal Minds was renewed for a 13th season by CBS. That show just keeps cranking it out, one season after another. The show now joins these other CBS renewed shows: "The Big Bang Theory,” “Blue Bloods,” “Bull,” “Hawaii Five-O,” “Kevin Can Wait,” “Life in Pieces,” “MacGyver,” “Madam Secretary,” “Man With a Plan,” “Mom,” “NCIS,” “NCIS: Los Angeles,” “NCIS: New Orleans,” “Scorpion,” “Superior Donuts,” “Survivor,” “48 Hours” and “60 Minutes.”

Nashville was renewed by CMT for a sixth season.

Star Wars Rebels is coming to a close, with its upcoming fourth season being its last. WTF? It's been indicated that this is not the last animated rendition of Star Wars, but we'll see.

"Kingsman: The Golden Circle" Trailer #1

I don't know about you but I had a blast watching the first Kingsman film. The action was over-the-top and yet precise. It was everything all our inner-spy-child fans love in our films, action, light story, big bad guys.

But right now, this first trailer for the sequel, Kingsman: The Golden Circle, feels more bland than the first one.  We can only hope this is a calm preview with more of that crazy action coming up! Right?

[ ]

via press release:

Kingsman: The Secret Service” introduced theworld to Kingsman - an independent, international intelligence agency operating at the highest level of discretion, whose ultimate goal is to keep the world safe. In “Kingsman: The Golden Circle,” our heroes face a new challenge. When their headquarters are destroyed and the world is held hostage, their journey leads them to the discovery of an allied spy organization in the US called Statesman, dating back to the day they were both founded. In a new adventure that tests their agents’ strength and wits to the limit, these two elite secret organizations band together to defeat a ruthless common enemy, in order to save the world, something that’s becoming a bit of a habit for Eggsy…

Directed by Matthew Vaughn

Starring Colin Firth, Julianne Moore, Taron Egerton, Mark Strong, Halle Berry, Pedro Pascal, with Sir Elton John, and Channing Tatum, and Jeff Bridges

ALIEN COVENANT: Nothing But The Same Old Sh!

After Prometheus came and went, fans and critics felt pretty annoyed by the whole thing, from the questionable marketing about if this was a prequel or not, to what I can only perceive as some of the f*ing stupidest scientists on the planet... no, correction, in the universe. THE UNIVERSE. She annoyed the living crap out of me, so kudos to the actor, Noomi Rapace, though to be honest, that character scarred me about the actress too. And officially, Ridley Scott has called Prometheus, this and the next film prequels to the original Alien film.

Be it as it may, we've been seeing teasers for Alien Covenant and now some "viral" videos for the movie as 20th Century Fox is scrambling to make the most out of their marketing time.

But if you step back and take a look, it is all starting to feel like Alien, & Aliens, where the colony ship Covenant finds a pristine new planet, with mysteries and dangers afoot.  (What ever you do, DO NOT go to wikipedia to look up this film. I believe it gives away some plot details I have not seen in any of the marketing to date, and could be a potentially huge jaw-dropper for film-goers. That is, unless you don't care about spoilers.)

But aside from the trailer, we're now getting these viral videos to help pump up the film! They're interesting, but confusing. They're video logs to family from space, but obviously some "technical glitch," in a society that can propel humans far into space, has corrupted the videos.

12 Monkeys got a renewal nod from Syfy.

Remember, Archer started their new season on FXX, so if you haven't changed up your DVR settings, get to it!

Brockmire got renewed by IFC for a second season.

Colony got the third season renewal nod from USA.

Falling Water was renewed by USA for a second season.

REMINDER:  Fear of the Walking Dead returns on AMC for their third season on Sunday, June 4.

Man Seeking Woman was canned by FXX.

Freeform ordered a new Marvel product, called Marvel's New Warriors. A show about young adult heroes.  The show is about "six young people with powers living and working together. With powers and abilities on the opposite end of the spectrum of The Avengers, the New Warriors want to make a difference in the world ... even if the world isn't ready. Not quite super, not yet heroes, “Marvel’s New Warriors” is about that time in your life when you first enter adulthood and feel like you can do everything and nothing at once – except in this world, bad guys can be as terrifying as bad dates."

Million Dollar Matchmaker got a second season order by WE TV.

Tuesday, April 18, 2017

Cheryl Burke has taken over the reigns of Dance Moms after Abby Lee Miller, in the middle of her fraud case, up and quit the show, blaming the producers were maligning her. (Because, you know, they made her now report her show income and then they made her try to hide her income... allegedly.)

Bull will get Eliza Dushku on the cast. She'll be showing up on May 9th.

Growing Up Bates has had a sixth season ordered by UP TV.

Humans was renewed by AMC for a third season. If you have't seen this show, you need to. It's pretty good and sucks you right in. The show explores the premise of artificial intelligence and robotics, as they start becoming self-aware. DO they have rights or are they just machines? The seasons are shorter than a most TV shows, so there's very little fluff involved and all story. It's riveting and I can't get enough of it.

Santa Clarita Diet was renewed by Netflix for a second season, the series stars Timothy Olyphant (Justified) and Drew Barrymore (Blended).

Spike TV Renewed Ink Master for a 10th season

The Knick was cancelled by Cinemax. (Not enough skin?)

The Mindy Project was renewed for a sixth season by Hulu, but this will be its last season.

Time After Time was cut by ABC.

Uh ho... Fox cut four episodes off of this season of Lucifer, making it an 18 episode season this year. Supposedly this will make their third season a 26 episode season, but to be honest, really? Usually seasons get cut short when a show is underperforming. And to come out and blatantly say that their third season will have more episodes than any show, ever, well, ouch, I feel the pain with the lubricants!

AMERICAN ASSASSIN Trailer (W Dylan O’Brien, Michael Keaton)

via press release

"AMERICAN ASSASSIN follows the rise of Mitch Rapp (Dylan O’Brien), a CIA black ops recruit under the instruction of Cold War veteran Stan Hurley (Michael Keaton). The pair is then enlisted by CIA Deputy Director Irene Kennedy (Sanaa Lathan) to investigate a wave of apparently random attacks on both military and civilian targets. Together the three discover a pattern in the violence leading them to a joint mission with a lethal Turkish agent (Shiva Negar) to stop a mysterious operative (Taylor Kitsch) intent on starting a World War in the Middle East."

BETTER CALL SAUL: Who Was Eric Justen?

At the end of the season premiere of Better Call Saul on AMC, we saw a notice saying,

"Dedicated to our friend,
Eric Justen."

Who was Eric Justen?

The bottom line, he was an Emmy-Nominated Breaking Bad Re-recording Mixer and he passed away from a heart attack.

He worked on all five seasons of Breaking Bad, also on notable shows like Elementary and Numbers. The rest of his resume was rounded out with The Mysteries of Laura, Pretty Little Liars, The Lottery, 666 Park Avenue, Suburgatory, Unforgettable, Human Target, Fringe, The Good Wife, Psych, and if you add it all up, he worked on 114 different projects/series.

It's obvious he contributed to many of today's great TV hits.

When you think about it, many only attribute the faces of cast to shows and what network they run on. And on occasion, who directed episodes. But there are many many folks behind the scenes that make up a good show. You have producers, directors, music, camera folks, editors, design, art, set, stunt, location, costume and makeup teams and their departments. The list is crazy long, and one of the more important, well, they're all equally important, but if you've ever seen a show or movie with subpar sound or visuals of effects, well, if you dwell on it, it takes a good editor to make their own department not stand out, but rather, to make the show a good experience all around.

On one show alone, I pulled up a list of almost 900 names in the production, and this list did not include all the assistants and support behind the scenes.

Bottom line, Eric was integral to our one of our favorite AMC shows and many many more. The industry will miss his contributions and our thoughts are with his frieds, peers and family on their loss.

Michael Fassbender Stars in ALIEN COVENANT, A Trailer

{ }

"Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created, with ALIEN: COVENANT, a new chapter in his groundbreaking ALIEN franchise. The crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world. When they uncover a threat beyond their imagination, they must attempt a harrowing escape.

Directed by Ridley Scott

Starring Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride, Demián Bichir, Carmen Ejogo, Amy Seimetz, Jussie Smollet, Callie Hernandez, Nathaniel Dean, Alexander England, Benjamin Rigby"

Ridley Scott Movies.

This is the international trailer for Alien Covenant, where space voyagers find a nice place with a nasy secret, then they get infected, then they start running, and then they mostly all die! It doesn't seem like anything new except for the fact that this is the sequel to the prequel?

It looks like another space monster in space movie, except it has everyone's favorite xenomorph.

The monster hits theaters in mid-May

Tom Cruise, in THE MUMMY, A Movie Trailer

via press release:

Tom Cruise headlines a spectacular, all-new cinematic version of the legend that has fascinated cultures all over the world since the dawn of civilization: The Mummy.

Thought safely entombed in a tomb deep beneath the unforgiving desert, an ancient princess (Sofia Boutella of Kingsman: The Secret Service and Star Trek Beyond) whose destiny was unjustly taken from her is awakened in our current day, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia and terrors that defy human comprehension.

From the sweeping sands of the Middle East through hidden labyrinths under modern-day London, The Mummy brings a surprising intensity and balance of wonder and thrills in an imaginative new take that ushers in a new world of gods and monsters.

Cruise is joined by a cast including Annabelle Wallis (upcoming King Arthur, television’s Peaky Blinders), Jake Johnson (Jurassic World), Courtney B. Vance (TV’s American Crime Story: The People V. O.J. Simpson) and Oscar® winner Russell Crowe (Gladiator).

The creative team on this action-adventure event is led by director/producer Alex Kurtzman and producer Chris Morgan, who have been instrumental in growing some of the most successful franchises of the past several years—with Kurtzman writing or producing entries in the Transformers, Star Trek and Mission: Impossible series, and Morgan being the narrative engineer of the Fast & Furious saga as it has experienced explosive growth from its third chapter on. Sean Daniel, who produced the most recent Mummy trilogy, produces alongside Kurtzman and Morgan.

ATOMIC BLONDE with Charlize Theron, A Trailer

via press release

Oscar® winner Charlize Theron explodes into summer in Atomic Blonde, a breakneck action-thriller that follows MI6’s most lethal assassin through a ticking time bomb of a city simmering with revolution and double-crossing hives of traitors.

The crown jewel of Her Majesty’s Secret Intelligence Service, Agent Lorraine Broughton (Theron) is equal parts spycraft, sensuality and savagery, willing to deploy any of her skills to stay alive on her impossible mission. Sent alone into Berlin to deliver a priceless dossier out of the destabilized city, she partners with embedded station chief David Percival (James McAvoy) to navigate her way through the deadliest game of spies.

A blistering blend of sleek action, gritty sexuality and dazzling style, Atomic Blonde is directed by David Leitch (John Wick, upcoming Deadpool 2). Also starring John Goodman, Til Schweiger, Eddie Marsan, Sofia Boutella and Toby Jones, the film is based on the Oni Press graphic novel series“The Coldest City,” by Antony Johnston & illustrator Sam Hart. Kurt Johnstad (300) wrote the screenplay.

- - -

Normally, I expect films with Charlize Theron in them to be potentially fun screen products. And the story behind Atomic blonde looks fun.

Trailer for Stephen King's IT

OK, so Stephen King's It seems just about terrifying enough...  and it's directed by the guy who helmed Mama. Oh great... I'm getting nervous already.

via press release

"New Line Cinema’s horror thriller “IT,” directed by Andrés Muschietti (“Mama”), is based on the hugely popular Stephen King novel of the same name, which has been terrifying readers for decades.

When children begin to disappear in the town of Derry, Maine, a group of young kids are faced with their biggest fears when they square off against an evil clown named Pennywise, whose history of murder and violence dates back for centuries.

“IT” stars Bill Skarsgård (“Allegiant,” TV’s “Hemlock Grove”) as the story’s central villain, Pennywise. An ensemble of young actors also star in the film, including Jaeden Lieberher (“Midnight Special”), Jeremy Ray Taylor (“Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip”), Sophia Lillis (“37”), Finn Wolfhard (TV’s “Stranger Things”), Wyatt Oleff (“Guardians of the Galaxy”), Chosen Jacobs (upcoming “Cops and Robbers”), Jack Dylan Grazer (“Tales of Halloween”) and Nicholas Hamilton (“Captain Fantastic”).

Muschietti is directing “IT” from a screenplay adapted by Chase Palmer & Cary Fukunaga and Gary Dauberman. Dan Lin, Roy Lee, Seth Grahame-Smith, David Katzenberg and Barbara Muschietti are producing, with Marty P. Ewing, Doug Davison and Jon Silk serving as executive producers."

"Transformers: The Last Knight" Official Trailer 041217

The new trailer for Transformers: The Last Knight has been released by Paramount Pictures, and it is a whopper! It gives us a lot more detail around events from the first teaser trailer, almost bordering on spoilers from that first teaser, and a ton more detail!

The official press release says,

"When all seems lost, a few brave souls can save everything we’ve ever known.

The Last Knight shatters the core myths of the Transformers franchise, and redefines what it means to be a hero. Humans and Transformers are at war, Optimus Prime is gone. The key to saving our future lies buried in the secrets of the past, in the hidden history of Transformers on Earth. Saving our world falls upon the shoulders of an unlikely alliance: Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg); Bumblebee; an English Lord (Sir Anthony Hopkins); and an Oxford Professor (Laura Haddock).

There comes a moment in everyone’s life when we are called upon to make a difference. In Transformers: The Last Knight, the hunted will become heroes. Heroes will become villains. Only one world will survive: theirs, or ours."

Yikes, right? I still can't tell who might be good, bad or indifferent!!!

Cast includes Mark Wahlberg, Josh Duhamel, Anthony Hopkins, Laura Haddock, Isabella Moner, Stanley Tucci, John Turturro. The film comes out in June! Boom!

For the Charlie Hunnam Fan: KING ARTHUR Trailer

Check out Charlie Hunnam, sans motorcycle, in a role we've not seen the likes of for Charlie in a long time.  King Arthur: The Legend of the Sword stars Jude Law, Hunnam and directed by Guy Ritchie - it will be in theaters May 12, 2017...  ah, here's the press release, followed by the trailer:

via press release:

"Acclaimed filmmaker Guy Ritchie brings his dynamic style to the epic fantasy action adventure “King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.” Starring Charlie Hunnam in the title role, the film is an iconoclastic take on the classic Excalibur myth, tracing Arthur’s journey from the streets to the throne.

When the child Arthur’s father is murdered, Vortigern (Jude Law), Arthur’s uncle, seizes the crown. Robbed of his birthright and with no idea who he truly is, Arthur comes up the hard way in the back alleys of the city. But once he pulls the sword from the stone, his life is turned upside down and he is forced to acknowledge his true legacy…whether he likes it or not.

Starring with Hunnam (FX’s “Sons of Anarchy”) and Oscar nominee Law (“Cold Mountain,” “The Talented Mr. Ripley”) are Astrid Bergès-Frisbey (“Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides”) as Mage; Oscar nominee Djimon Hounsou (“Blood Diamond,” “In America”) as Bedivere; Aidan Gillen (HBO’s “Game of Thrones”) as Goosefat Bill; and Eric Bana (“Star Trek”) as Arthur’s father, King Uther Pendragon.

"Thor: Ragnarok" Teaser Trailer 4-10-17

The first trailer of a sorts is out for Thor: Ragnarok and to be honest, it's disheartening (to see what happens to the hammer), depressing, as Thor is made to be a gladiator and funny when we see when Thor sees Hulk. So yes, this is a part of the Planet Hulk story that many Hulk fans were looking for.

Then again, check out the background music.. it's like ever since the world was duped into wanting to go see Suicide Squad with hot music, plus, Guardians of the Galaxy success, with the strong emphasis on classic rock, well, I guess they're trying this here too!

And what's up with antler woman???

LOL:  "We know each other. He's a friend from work!"  That is too funny.

Thor Ragnarok comes out in theaters in November.

Have you seen the newest/latest teaser for Netflix's upcoming Defender's series?

Watch the clock in the upper-right-hand corner. It stops at what everyone believes is the release date for the show on Netflix!

{ )

Danny is breathing pretty hard, so he must have been posturing heavily! Matt is in his suit, as in business, day-time suit, so there's something to that I'm sure. Luke and Jessica are just, well, themselves.

Then there are the numbers in the upper left corner, which equates to an IP address to another viral website at There's a lot of fictional news in there and it's pretty cool!
