CBS renewed their powerhouse drama, NCIS, for another two seasons. That will keep the show running through the 2018 TV season. That will put it on track to being on the air for 15 years. Not bad for a spinoff, huh?

Channing Tatum's Gambit film keeps getting shoved around by FOX. Now that Fox has a hit in the form of Deadpool, they've added two new unnamed Marvel projects to their film schedule, resulting in Gambit getting pulled.

We'll see if Tatum can get his film back off the ground. But right now there's no faith in the project from Fox.

Hey gang, can we say Ant-Man? Or another recent film no one had faith in, Deadpool?

Fox is setting it's sites on March 2018 as the release date for its next Predator movie. It's being referred to as The Predator, is being directed by Shane Black and if I read the rumors right, it will be a direct sequel to the first film that Arnie was in.

The 2016 OSCARS, Chris Rock Called It Like He Saw It

The 2016 Academy Awards came out with the controversy of some folks thinking that there was a boycott of black actors, considering there were no nominated black actors this year.

I thought it was just what it was... actors were nominated and statistically speaking, that was that. I saw a piece the other day that said if anyone could be upset, try looking at Asian actors and how little they've ever been nominated.

But instead, Jade Pinkett Smith and Will Smith, amongst others, threw the equivalent of a snit for not getting a nod and boycotted.

Then Chris Rock came onto the stage after the opening montage and made note that there were at least 15 black people in that montage. Or later on when he called the Oscars the White People's Choice Awards. Or when the Academy honored Jack Black as a part of their Black History Month tribute.

Rock did not hold back as he took shots at both Hollywood and the slighted acting talent. It almost got too old as the show went on, but I think the point was made.

Then there were the awards.

After having seen the newest Mad Max movie... I was pretty disappointed as it was just a car chase through the desert. But George Miller is ingrained in the tapestry of Hollywood and the film took home six minor awards for things like best costume design, best makeup, best sound editing, etc.

I swear, if it had gotten best picture, I would have quit Hollywood.

But be it as it may,

Films that received multiple nominations:

12     The Revenant
10     Mad Max: Fury Road
7     The Martian
6     Bridge of Spies
6     Carol
6     Spotlight
5     The Big Short
5     Star Wars: The Force Awakens
4     The Danish Girl
4     Room
3     Brooklyn
3     The Hateful Eight
3     Sicario
2     Ex Machina
2     Inside Out
2     Steve Jobs

MAGIC MIKE XXL For Xtra, Xtra Lame

Magic Mike XXL is the sequel to the hot-bodied film, Magic Mike, starring Channing Tatum and a few others. That film was an instant hit with it's above average story line about a man trying to make a life for himself, while dancing his nights away, entertaining the ladies.

The first film garnered a 6.1 user rating on IMDb, 80% on Rotten Tomatoes, but to be honest, with its mix of dance scenes, story and personal challenges, it was an OK, popcorn fun kind of movie.

If you liked the first film, you will be sorely tested or challenged to enjoy the sequel.

If you've seen or remember the trailer(s) for Magic Mike XXL, well, you've pretty much seen some of the best parts of the film.

The cast includes Channing Tatum, Juan Piedrahita, Joe Manganiello, Kevin Nash, Gabriel Iglesias, Matt Bomer, Adam Rodriguez, Amber Heard, Stephen 'tWitch' Boss, Jada Pinkett Smith, Michael Strahan, Donald Glover, Andie MacDowell, & Elizabeth Banks. (Pinkett Smith replaces Matthew McConaughey as their show leader)

The film starts out watching Mike working at his furniture business, but he's managed to find a reason to join the the guys one last time, for one last gig.

Acts one and two of the film are a very boring tirade of character explanations and self-discovery. They meet up with some old friends and make new friends.

The only dancing that takes place is the scene when Mike is in his garage working on furniture.

Who Was Kathleen Dolan, BLUE BLOODS

Tonight., Friday, 2-26-16, during the new episode of Blue Bloods, #6.16, titled "Help Me Help You," ended with a memorial statement,

In Loving Memory of Our Friend,
Kathleen Dolan

Kathleen Dolan was the Set Decorator for the CBS hit series, Blue Bloods and had been working in the industry for quite some time, since at least 1978.

According to sources I can deduce that she passed from cancer.

RIP Kathleen Marie Dolan-Giorgini

Our condolences and heartfelt thoughts go out to her family, friends, & peers.

Cancer is an evil thing that needs to be beaten. It takes too many loved ones.

X-FILES Revival Failed The Fans In Many Ways

How the X-FILES revival blew it and failed us all.

Well, after much hoopla and expectations, the X-Files newest season of a mere six-episodes has come and gone, and it left me with a familiar and bitter taste in my proverbial mouth.

Despite all the chest pounding and marketing from the producers that we'll be seeing funny stand-alone episodes, and strong hinting at revisiting the Peacock family, they ended up making liars out of all of us that were reporting these developments and teases. Or X-Lies.

When the six-episode run of X-Files kicked it in gear, it was awesome to see the original opening and most of the original cast. But then they jumped right back into what got the show long in the tooth back in its day, the government conspiracies.

I know that's what the series was based around, but that very same drawl about the government interfering with our lives without us knowing it is what got the show cancelled in the first place. And they went right back to it.

We then got a few stand-alone episodes, and the one with the monster that was bitten, was cute, but more ironic than it was funny. But we were looking for funny.

We met the two new agents who may eventually take up the mantle of the X-Files, if the series continues, though, to be honest, the last name of the Scully replacement is too distracting. And through it all, we were treated to some of the same content that was the fun of the show back in the day. With the exception of the first and last episodes, which beat that dead horse back into the ground.

For those of you following both comic book based shows and Alan Tudyk, well, you're in huge luck!!!

Alan Tudyk was just cast in the upcoming NBC series titled POWERLESS, an office comedy from DC Comics.

Alan joins Vanessa Hudgens, Danny Pudi and Christina Kirk.

Powerless takes place in an insurance office that ends up taking hit after hit by the damage caused by superhero battles.

Tudyk plays the bosses son, who gets himself promoted just because he's the bosses kid and apparently can be a real dick.

Forget About UNFORGETTABLE....

Hey, despite the struggles and success that Unforgettable has had, the Poppy Montgomery starring series is NOT getting a fifth season over on A&E.

Ryan Phillippe Fan Alert; THUNDERBIRDS On Amazon, Bones

For those of you who like following Ryan Phillippe, USA Network has ordered a series titled SHOOTER, a story based off a best-selling novel. (And yes, there was a 207 movie with the same name, starring Mark Wahlberg.)

Ryan Phillippe will produce and star in the series, as an expert marksman who WAS living in exile until he is coaxed back into the dregs of society after he becomes aware of a plot to kill the president of the United States.

Omar Epps will also star.

AND if this has you wondering if Phillippe's other show on ABC, Secrets and Lies is cancelled or not, supposedly, back in May of 2015 the news on the street was that the show was renewed.

But sadly, Phillippe's character will not be a part of the on-going story over there.

Before you open your can of fan-wrath about Ryan not returning, it seems that actually the entire cast, with the exception of Juliette Lewis, is not returning.

To be honest, if I were a Phillippe fan, I'd be frustrated. But if you step back and realize that you liked the show that he was a part of, this may not be a bad move.

A lot of shows get off the ground floor with a good head of steam but as the story develops and writers end up finding themselves boxed in a corner, and the show and story start to run out of steam as they follow up the usual direction of plots and characters.

Very few shows survive too long before getting long in the tooth with the usual substance abuse issues, familial problems and what not.

But mixing it up like this and bringing in a new case for the detective to work on, sounds like it could still be a show worth following.

Honest Trailers tackles THE WALKING DEAD, And It's Gloriously Funny At Times

Check out how the pragmatic and funny team behind Honest Trailers tackles their latest victim, The Walking Dead.

And to be clear, even when they 'attack' things I like, I still see the funny in it all. Which to me is rare that someone can trash something I like, I still like the trashing.

New SPAWN Script Done! Plus Fox Orders Another Reboot

Todd McFarlane Is still hoping to get another Spawn movie out there. He made an announcement of sorts that he has finished his first take on a new Spawn script.

It still needs whittling down (AKA, editing) but at least he's still working on it.

We all know that first Spawn movie had potential, but since back in that day studios had no faith in comic-based movies, they made most of them "quirky" or "cutesy" or over-the-top stupid projects.

So McFarlane's first spin at the movie, though it could have been good, got screwed over with the clown and other stupid characters.

Here's hoping.

Fox has ordered a pilot for a Lethal Weapon TV version reboot. Riggs has not been cast yet, but Damon Wayans Sr will be playing Murtaugh.

I wonder how many reboots "Hollywood" can get away with before we get sick of it?

TRANFORMERS 6 Will be a Bumblebee spinoff (& Movie Release Schedule)

Here's some cool news, where it's been announced that TF6 (TRANFORMERS 6) Will be a Bumblebee spinoff, per a Hasbro press conference call.

"This summer we worked closely with a talented team of A-list screenwriters to map out the future of the Transformers cinematic universe, and as [Hasbro President] Brian [Goldner] announced earlier, things kick off in a major way in 2017 with the release of Transformers 5 in June. And we’re working on a spin-off movie centered around Bumblebee for 2018 and the next chapter for 2019."

This means that (I'll never do another one) Michael Bay returns to direct Transformers 5. The script for TF5 is written by Art Marcum & Matt Holloway (Iron Man) and Ken Nolan (Black Hawk Down).

TF5 comes out on June 23, 2017.

Right now that date will be competing with the Kingsman sequel (06/16), and DC's Wonder Woman movie. (06/23). They're doomed.

Transformers 6 (which Bay isn't directing [wink, wink]) comes out on June 8, 2018. Which will be facing off with the Godzilla sequel (06/08), and the Jurassic World sequel (06/22). That will be a tough one... being a lifelong Godzilla fan and all, versus, riding the bandwagon that the TF movies have created.

WANTED (2008) Review

Angelia Jolie in Wanted, A review

I have been wanting to see Wanted since the day it came out, but it just never quite worked out in my favor until recently.

It's a shame because for the fantasy popcorn flick that it is, it wasn't that bad of a fun movie. I would not have minded dropping bucks to see this flick.

Wanted stars James McAvoy, Morgan Freeman, Angelina Jolie, Terence Stamp, Common and more in a film directed by Timur Bekmambetov.

The story starts out seeing a man named Wesley (McAvoy) leading a struggling life of non-excellence, when he finds himself the target of an unknown sniper and finding himself getting rescued by the beautiful assassin named Fox (Jolie).

it turns out that he is the son of a professional assassin, and that he shares his father's superhuman killing abilities. In the process Fox and her affiliates train Wesley to be the assassin that he can become so that he can take on the guy who is targeting him.

All in all, it's a fun film. It's a new look for McAvoy before he becomes a mutant professor, Morgan Freeman is Morgan Freeman, and Jolie is as hot as ever.

TAKEN 3 (2014) Review (They Need to Can This Franchise)

Taken 3 stars Liam Neeson, Forest Whitaker, a quick bit by Famke Janssen, Maggie Grace.

It's directed by Olivier Megaton, whose resume includes Taken 2, Transporter 3, Colombiana and more.

The film starts out taking about 30 minutes to get going, but within those first 30 minutes, we see bad guys developing motivation, dad's tense relationship with both his daughter and ex-wife, and local law enforcement.

What I didn't get was who the bad guys were and why they did what they did. But of course, it all leads to Bryan (Neeson) going on yet another vendetta.

But this time around, there's a tone to the story that does not feel fluid. At all.

Then there's the distraction for me, that being how Neeson is still doing action films, but if you look carefully, you'll see the liberal use of jumpy action scenes, stunt runners and doubles and scenes of Liam running stiffly.

Sure, he's a great role model for action flicks, but it takes a lot of editing to make it look like he's still doing the action. But they use shaky cam galore and close cut edits on feet and hands to hide that it's not him doing most of the fighting.

The film trudges along, showing us Bryan chasing clues to the event that took place in the beginning of the film.

TOMORROWLAND (2015) Movie Review (An Ecclectic And Disappointing Experience)

Tomorrowland stars George Clooney, Britt Robertson, Hugh Laurie, in a story directed by Brad Bird.

The premise for Tomorrowland was never clear from the trailers, but they looked cool. But I didn't go see the movie.

I'm glad I didn't.

The synopsis goes as follows:

Whenever Casey Newton (Britt Robertson) touches a lapel pin with the letter T on it, she finds herself transported to Tomorrowland, a city filled with huge robots and sleek buildings. The gifted young woman recruits the help of scientist Frank Walker (George Clooney), a previous visitor to Tomorrowland, who years ago made a startling discovery about the future. Together, the two adventurers travel to the metropolis to uncover its mysterious secrets.

What they don't tell you is that it takes about one hour and forty minutes to start moving the plot along the lines of the synopsis. The rest of the early part of the movie feels like a fragmented, confusing waste of time.

But once you get to that last 30 minutes, you should be good.

In fact, if you only watch the first 20, then last 30 or 40 minutes, you'll think just watched a fun movie. Don't ruin it for yourself and watch the middle confusion.

DEADPOOL Review (A Glib, Sarcastic Fun Marvel Flick [WARNING: TAKE NO CHILDREN])

DEADPOOL Movie Review... if you can call it that

The review of Marvel's Deadpool...  wait... first, A WARNING, then an opinion I call a movie review, and then the spoilers later on...

If you think this is going to be another Marvel comic character movie that you want to take the kids to, DO NOT. DO NOT TAKE THE KIDS to Deadpool, unless you like explaining wild and crazy sex, gratuitous strip club scenes, and other curious sexual references. (Hey, Reynolds himself even warned everyone to not take your kids, then bitch about it later...)

Otherwise, Deadpool (That's Mr. Pool) is what one might expect after seeing the trailers: It's glib, riddled with sarcasm, laced around a story where Deadpool is hunting down a bad guy, not because he's a bad guy, but because he wants something from him. Nothing more. Oh, and the action scenes are quite superb for what they are!

Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) is a mercenary who gets cancer and turns to a magic cure offered by some unknown cretin. The process is long and ugly but when it finally takes, it finds the latent mutant genes in Wilson and subsequently, names himself after his local bar's betting pool of who, among the mercenaries who frequent the place, will die.

And don't worry, Wilson continually reminds us he's not a hero, in so many ways.

But it's not all about the grimy action. There's love too. The kind of love two completely sarcastic, narcissistic individuals spark in each other. It's sweet how they meet... See later in the spoilers section.

His love interest is played by the seductively gorgeous Morena Baccarin.

TURBO: A POWER RANGERS MOVIE Tests The Tolerances of Your Patience

First... yes, I know what it is. This franchise is aimed at the smaller wee folk of our society. But I think even they would think this flick sucks. It was so bad, I HAD TO WRITE ABOUT it!

The film is directed by David Winning and Shuki Levy. Who?  Exactly. But at least the kids will be disappointed by familiar faces, as the cast from the TV series shows up to done the spandex in this flick.

Normally, I'm fairly tolerant of most movies. It takes a lot for me to actively say something is horrible. It's rare when I actually end up watching something like that. I try to avoid bad movies. And as things go, it's an accepted fact of television life exactly what the Power Rangers franchise...  A kid's movie that ends up showcasing giant monsters and giant robots. It's the extreme of popcorn fun.

But wow, A Power Rangers Movie takes the franchise and dumps it hard in the trash can of tolerance. Hell, it's so bad, it has a frighteningly low IMDb movie rating of 3.3.

This "movie" has worse production values than any half-hour TV episode ever made. It makes ANYTHING on the Syfy channel look like a literary work of excellence.

We have stiff acting, cheaply made effects, and some seriously lacking logistics of story detail.

For the kids that might watch the film, there is only one scene with giant robot vs giant monsters, and that's at the very end. So the kids will be disappointed.  The rest of, or most of the movie tries to tell a story. LOL.

The giant robot looks horrible. It's chest plate is so fat it could not even clap its hands if it wanted to, their new cars/equipment looks cheaply made.

BATMAN v SUPERMAN Dawn of Justice Final and BEST Trailer Yet!

Of all the clips and trailers from Batman v Superman, this final trailer seems to pack a punch, no pun intended. We get to see Batman in action and to be honest, I think this is some of the best on-film action I've seen of the caped crusader. And Superman seems pretty angry.

Through it all, we're reminded of Wonder Woman's presence, the obscure craziness of "Lex" Luthor and the general mood of the film while being sampled with some fun action scenes laced with upbeat action music.

"Even you got too old to die young..."

But if WB follows suit with other studios, this may be the final trailer but I'm sure we'll get a bunch of "TV" clips until the release date. Hell, Deadpool as nearly 20 different TV clips out there!

This film had better be pretty long, because they have a ton of story to tell.

The film is due out in theaters on March 25th, 2016. And yes, it runs two hours and 31 minutes. (150 minutes!)

IS AGENT CARTER Ending? If You Believe The Newest Casting News

IS AGENT CARTER Ending? If You Believe The Newest Casting and production News...

Marvel's Agent Carter stars Hayley Atwell. It's in its second season right now. Albeit short, eight-episode season.

But a few things have taken place that make your eyebrows go up and start wondering if Agent Carter is doomed.

For one, industry experts are saying that a renewal of the show is not likely.

Second, Atwell has been cast in a new, upcoming show that according to reports, takes first position in her acting duties, over Agent Carter.

Third - a shortened season usually means it's a polite allowance to let a show die a natural death and let the production staff end it on a good note.

As if the lead character actress landing a new acting gig isn't bad enough of a spoiler/warning, the executive producers are also now working on a new pilot for ABC.

It seems that THIS is the final season of Agent Carter.

So be it. I've barely had time to make the time for the show as it is.

This is, though, reminding me of when Norman Reedus started up a new show last summer, and everyone started freaking out then that he was getting killed off. (Boy, would that have been a bad thing...)

THE EXPANSE First Season, Fun, Yet Slow and Confusing

The first season of The Expanse on Syfy has come to a close and to be honest, I'm not sure if having read the books screwed me up for this rendition of the tale or not. But there is one thing for sure, and that's that they've added a ton of filler content to fill out the season, that's for sure.

But be it as it may, it was a deep rooted tale of mystery and intrigue, peppered with political screw overs that probably made the Battle Star Galactic fans of old pretty happy.

Am I right?

A few websites seem to be drooling all over themselves about how incredible the series was. And compared to some of the stuff on Syfy or just out on TV, yes, it was a solid and deep telling of a mystery of which, you the viewer, have no clue what could be happening. (Unless you read the books.)

But if you read the books you know they have completely taken details and plot points and moved them around, removed them altogether or added stuff that isn't necessary.

We've seen events in season one that probably should not have even started being hinted at yet...

We've not seen events that started the story in the books... at all. And to be honest, seeing this one event was what led to my wide-eyed reading of the tale, wondering WTF?

They've completely remashed up the crew chemistry for the show.

They've smothered the true nature of who Holden is and why he's such a huge piece of the story.

They skipped over some great little details about Julie and other facets that happened to her that would have been great to see.

Not to mention completely adding new material to the story that was never in the books. In several plot lines.

FORTITUDE Season Two Casting News (And It's Awesome!)

Do you remember seeing my TV review of the first season of Pivot's Fortitude? I went on and on about Stanley Tucci, and it was a slow burn of a great tale of science that feels like science fiction.

It was odd, but the revelations were jaw-dropping! And you learned to take nothing for granted.

Well, here's some casting news for the second season of Fortitude, and I can't wait!

via press release

Please find below casting news for season two of the critically-acclaimed drama “Fortitude,” which will return to Pivot this Fall.

Golden Globe® nominated Dennis Quaid (“The Art of More,” Far From Heaven), Parminder Nagra (“The Blacklist,” “ER”), Michelle Fairley (“Game of Thrones”), Robert Sheehan (“Misfits”), and Ken Stott (“The Missing”) have joined the cast of the chilling arctic thriller.

THE CW Nabs Six New Potential Shows

Recent news shows that The CW has ordered pilot episodes for six different new TV shows.

One is a new spin on an old classic, called Riverdale, based on the Archie Comics. (At least they haven't stuck zombie in the mix on this one!)

What I presume to be a vampire-based series, called Transylvania, which is going to take place in the 1880s.

Do you remember the 2000 movie Frequency, starring Dennis Quaid and Jim Caviezel? There will be a pilot of the same name based on the movie.

No Tomorrow will follow a couple who were living high on the hog just before an apocalypse hits their world.

There's a pilot with no name (Sounds like a title to a song) that will focus on a team of explorers who joins a human colony on Mars.

And there will be a pilot about a young woman who begins to experience paranormal phenomena and seeks help from a shrink.

(If you haven't seen the 1982 film, The Entity, with Barbara Hershey, that's a must see, pants-crapping fun film! But don't watch it with little kids, there is a moment or two of an adult-themed moment that will just creep you out and have the kids asking questions you don't want to answer.)

- - -

The Disney Channel is ordering a live-action sci-fi show called Mech-X4. It's being called a comedic adventure series about four boys who control a giant robot to protect their town. It's slated to premiere sometime this year on Disney XD. Hmm. I instantly think of Johnny Sokko.

Orange is the New Black has been renewed for THREE more seasons by Netflix. That's one hell of an investment, that's for sure. But great news for fans!

USA is happy with Colony and has renewed the series for a second season. No word on how many episodes will be ordered. It stars Josh Holloway (“Lost”) and Sarah Wayne Callies (“The Walking Dead”).

I love how they have been alluding to who or what the invaders are, but aren't quite giving up the ghost yet. Well done!

Oh word...The Real Housewives of New Jersey will be returning on Bravo later this season, now that our convict, Teresa Giudice, is out of jail.

OK, seriously, can't we call it the Real Housewives of Jail Time now? Yes, I just went there.

I seriously love hating Shades of Blue. They did not give us time to become hooked on any character, but rather, threw us in the pool, for us to just hate watching good people do bad things for bad reasons. It's like Sons of Anarchy, but on the other side of the shield!

Any way... sorry, got carried away there... NBC has given a renewal order for a second season of Shades of Blue.

CBS Canceled the Jane Lynch and Maggie Lawson starring show, Angel from hell.

In case you had not heard, Voltron is coming to Netlfix. Over the last few years, there have been rumors about a live-action version, but the studio that holds the rights to a live-action version, Relativity Media, is having a bit of a financial bout going on at the moment. So we can presume to see a Dreamworks/Netflix production of an animated version.

If you're liking The Magicians on Syfy, be happy. Syfy has already put in a renewal order for a second season!

via press release:

Syfy today announced it has renewed hit drama series THE MAGICIANS for a second season of 13 episodes, expected to air in 2017. THE MAGICIANS is from Universal Cable Productions and is executive produced by John McNamara (Aquarius), Sera Gamble (Supernatural), Henry Alonso Myers (Covert Affairs) and Groundswell Productions' Michael London and Janice Williams (Milk).

Based on the bestselling novels from Lev Grossman, THE MAGICIANS is currently airing its first season on Syfy on Mondays at 9PM ET/PT. The series’ fourth episode premieres tonight.

During its first three episodes, THE MAGICIANS averaged 1.7 million viewers, 853K Adults 18-49 and 910K Adults 25-54 (based on L3 data).  The series is also strong among younger viewers, with Adults 18-34 growing consecutively over each episode, averaging 180% above Syfy’s prime time delivery in that demo.

Digitally, the series’ first episode was sampled more than 6.7 million times during its pre-linear launch (January 8 to January 25) across and select partner sites, as well as On Demand cable, satellite and telco TV platforms.  Additionally, an on-air sneak peek of the pilot, airing December 16 at 10PM ET/PT, drew 1.3 million total viewers (based on L+7 data).

Do you remember the 2001 movie Training Day, with Denzel Washington and Ethan Hawke, where Washington played a cop with huge ethically challenged policies? (Kind of like Shades of Blue is now...).

Well, CBS has ordered up a pilot episode of a series by the same name, with the same premise, "reimagining" the film and the executive team behind it will be the original director, Antoine Fuqua and the Jerry Bruckheimer production company.

Meaning crooked cops, great story, lots of bang and action, driving up the volume of TV ads.*

Aaand don't forget,

CBS is also pumping out another movie-based TV series, Rush Hour.

I see what's happening... let's throw a bunch of pilots out there fishing for viewers and we'll see which mix lands better, comedic action or morbid action.

*TV commercials are not allowed to be any louder than the show they are aired in. So most shows always have a loud moment in them to help ads be louder.

DC's Green Lantern will be represented in the Justice League movie... because Geoff Johns reported the other day in that TV special on The CW a bit back that we'll be seeing the Green Lantern Corp... then they splash screened images of what looked like Hal Jordan, John Stewart, Kyle Rayner, Guy Gardner and Simon Baz characters.

This could be great news for Green Lantern fans or it could serve as a warning.

MacGyver has duct-taped his way into a reboot, with a pilot episode ordered by CBS. But you should also expect it to be a crazy, fast-paced and action-packed show, considering that Furious 7's director, James Wan, will be directing the pilot episode.

Supposedly this one will be about a young MacGyver in his early days.

No casting news has been announced yet.

WGN AMERICA wanted us to know via  a press release that the Outsiders premiere was their most viewed original series in its history, netting 3.9 million viewers, with 5.5 million viewers chiming in with Live + 3 data.

(To be honest, they need to pump up those "+" numbers because sometimes people just don't have the time to jump right on content just because they recorded it.)

For the Joel Kinnaman fans out there, he's joining Netflixes House of Cards for its 4th season. Yay, I like this guy's presentation.

Plus, keep your eye out for him in DC's new movie, Suicide Squad.

Watch the brand new trailer for Disney’s The Jungle Book now! See the legend come to life in 3D, Real D 3D, and IMAX 3D on April 15!

Directed by Jon Favreau (“Iron Man”), based on Rudyard Kipling’s timeless stories and inspired by Disney’s classic animated film, “The Jungle Book” is an all-new live-action epic adventure about Mowgli (newcomer Neel Sethi), a man-cub who’s been raised by a family of wolves. But Mowgli finds he is no longer welcome in the jungle when fearsome tiger Shere Khan (voice of Idris Elba), who bears the scars of Man, promises to eliminate what he sees as a threat. Urged to abandon the only home he’s ever known, Mowgli embarks on a captivating journey of self-discovery, guided by panther-turned-stern mentor Bagheera (voice of Ben Kingsley), and the free-spirited bear Baloo (voice of Bill Murray). Along the way, Mowgli encounters jungle creatures who don’t exactly have his best interests at heart, including Kaa (voice of Scarlett Johansson), a python whose seductive voice and gaze hypnotizes the man-cub, and the smooth-talking King Louie (voice of Christopher Walken), who tries to coerce Mowgli into giving up the secret to the elusive and deadly red flower: fire. The all-star cast also includes Lupita Nyong'o as the voice of the fiercely protective mother wolf Raksha, and Giancarlo Esposito as the voice of wolf pack’s alpha male Akela. “The Jungle Book” seamlessly blends live-action with photorealistic CGI animals and environments, using up-to-the-minute technology and storytelling techniques to immerse audiences in an enchanting and lush world. The wild adventure swings into theaters in 3D on April 15, 2016.
