Mysterious Alien Ship or Dragon Egg Under Seattle?

Reign of Fire

One of my favorite fun dragon flick is the 2002 film, Reign of Fire from Buena Vista Pictures, starring Dark Knight's Christian Bale, Interstellar's Matthew McConaughey, & Gerard Butler.

It's basically about humanity trying to survive a dragon infested Earth.  And it all started with the London Underground mining project encountering and waking up a hibernating dragon.

Or how about the 1967 film, Quatermass and the Pit (AKA Five Million Years to Earth) where they find, again in the London Underground project, a mysterious buried spacecraft, starting all kinds of troubles!

So many movies tap into the mystery of strange things found under the ground during mining, excavation, cave exploration or even satellite imaging... and it's a great way to start the mystery of the movie.  (If it's done well)

Now, on to the reality of What's Under Seattle!

Bertha was stopped by an obstruction under Seattle

Duck Dynasty Gets Robertson Reinstated

A and E network has lifted Phil Robertson's suspension from Duck Dynasty

A and E network has lifted Phil Robertson's suspension and production one of their biggest hits, Duck Dynasty, is slated for continued production later this spring.

I guess the pressure that the Robertson family put on the network as far as threatening to not go on without their family member...  guess it worked and A and E didn't want to lose their gold mine.

What's been interesting in this process was that even though A and E suspended Robertson, they did little else.  They even left the programming in place where they had a holiday Duck Dynasty marathon on Dec 25th.

And this all took place after they renegotiated the Dynasty contract for the show, after a long standoff on pay, they finally settled on $200k, PER EPISODE.

In a statement from the network on continuing the show with Phil Robertson...

Discovery Channel News

Duck Dynasty

The Americans

The Thundermans

X-Factor Trounced by Charlie Brown

Is Duck Dynasty in jeopardy?
We all know (I assume) what cast member Phil Roberstson did, when he "quoted the bible" with his anti-gay statements.  And A and E suspended him from the Duck Dynasty production.

Now the Robertson family is standing together and while in the midst of negotiating future shows, they're saying that they can't do the show without Phil.

In their statement, they're emphasizing their religious belief, saying they are disappointed that he's been put on suspension for expressing his faith.

We'll see how things pan out.

In case you're wondering, Hannibal is returning for its second season on NBC on February 28th, 2014.  Mark your calendars... if this is your thing.  I tried an episode and it must have been the wrong timing.  It did not sit well with me!  More of a gross thing than anything else.

Speaking of returning, FX's The Americans is returning on Feb. 26 for its second season.  It's been a surprisingly good show.

As History Channel's PR release says, the raid continues.

The press release starts out with,

The epic tale continues in 10 all-new episodes of VIKINGS, premiering Thursday, February 27 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on HISTORY®. The hit scripted drama series centers on Ragnar (Travis Fimmel), a restless young warrior and family man who longs to find and conquer new lands across the sea and claim the spoils as his own. Now he is an Earl, allied with King Horrik (Donal Logue). With more power than ever before, his desire to sail west and explore new kingdoms remains unquenchable.

New to the cast of VIKINGS are Alexander Ludwig (The Hunger Games) as Bjorn, the intelligent and bold warrior son of Ragnar Lothbrok, and Linus Roache (Law & Order) as Ecbert, King of Wessex, a man of strength, knowledge and undisguised ambition. They join Travis Fimmel as Ragnar Lothbrok; Katheryn Winnick as Lagertha, a fierce shield maiden and Ragnar’s wife; Clive Standen as Rollo, Ragnar’s impulsive, wild, care-free brother; George Blagden as Athelstan, a young and not-so-innocent Monk; Jessalyn Gilsig as Siggy, beautiful wife of the late Earl Haraldson;  Donal Logue as King Horrik, who desires to make the increasingly famous Earl Ragnar an ally and supporter; Gustaf Skarsgard, a ship builder who designs the new generation of Vikings ships; and Alyssa Sutherland as Princess Aslaug, Ragnar’s new love interest.

Nickelodeon announced that they've ordered a second season of their superhero comedy The Thundermans.

Classic Holiday Trumps The X-Factor Finale

Nothing says you're show is irrelevant when the finale episode of your reality TV show is trumped in the ratings by 'A Charlie Brown Christmas.'

TV By NUmbers reported that an encore airing of Charlie Brown 's Christmas dusted the first hour of the finale episode of The X-Factor.

Dang.  But I also remember in some previous media questioning  whether the show is even going to come back or not next season...  so hey, maybe this is a harbinger for the show.

The Discovery Channel announced that 2013 was their best year in viewership in 12 years.

Their press release accredited "SKYWIRE WITH NIK WALLENDA was the #1 live event on cable for the year and SHARK WEEK delivered its highest rated and most watched year (in 26 years!). Discovery also had 11 series that averaged more than two million total viewers in 2013."
